Tielemans63 Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 This might be unpopular but I think we need a bit of perspective here- it's only 90 minutes, a brilliant 90 minutes but it's ultimately just one game. Also, how many times do you see a number 2 do well initially, get the job only to peter out pretty quickly. I'm not saying no, just think it's a bit early for a coronation.
stuw Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 lets not get carried away - l hope hes given another game to see if the LIverpool effort wasnt a one off to the sacking if we win the next game under him i agree give him until end of season But with people getting a little carried away today undestandbly given our poor form - i hope hes given another game at least to see if its not the bounce back syndrome that invariable seems to happen when a coach is let go - anyway i hope we win next game and then hes given the role until season end. Maybe Shakespeare to work under Hiddink would be ideal Still happy days today - Vardy well done
Xen Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 After the spirit shown tonight, there is only one man who could possibly take charge instead of Shakey and have the backing of the players to the same extent. NP is a possibility, but Shakey (and the players) has made a VERY strong case for himself tonight.
Jonno84 Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Some guy want Wenger as manger if he leaves arse in the summer.I don't think my head could cope with that.
stuw Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Hiddink for me with shakespeare as assistant is ideal

I got the impression Shakey knew that was his one and only game in charge. I think he knows someone else will be appointed imminently. Just my hunch after watching his interview.
LewFox Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 At this rate shakey will win us the premier league again......... relegation battle, win the league, relegation battle, win the league and so on and so forth???

When he said 'a one game remit' it really sounded as though he'd been asked to fill in for a week and for a week only.
em9999 Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Arsene Wenger will never manage another English club after arsenal. If he leaves which i highly doubt he will, (I think the only way he will leave arsenal is if he goes out in a coffin) he will manage abroad without question
StriderHiryu Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Way too early to make a call now. The "new manager" effect is always seen in football these days. He did a great job tonight, and was cool and composed in the pre and post match interviews. He knows the club and players inside and out too. We could definitely do worse. Would be happy if he had it for the season. Summer time will be difficult, I expect to see quite a large number of departures.
STUHILL Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 I wouldn't appoint him yet. Definitely earned his chance to manage against Hull though, so I hope the owners are delaying any final decision until after then. If we see a similar effort and performance against Hull, then absolutely he should be allowed to continue until the end of the season.
ZeGuy Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Hold off your horses. That was just one game. Let's see how we fare against Hull next week.

elvisfmcfly Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Shakey till the end of the season bring Pearson in as his assistant
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Goes to show these players need someone they like in charge, be it Nige or Shakey. No one else will do.
HybridFox Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 The only manager I think Shakey will be happy to step aside and work with is probably Pearson. Otherwise does seem a little harsh for a manager to come in who's completely new to the club. Who know's what'll happen? It's Leicester City I do hope Shakey gets another game at the weekend though

old koppite Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Take our time- let's see what happens against Hull
TheUltimateWinner Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 He deserves time at least. Don't want anyone appointed this week, he deserves the Hull game. Let him show what he has to offer, and if that outweighs experience, he deserves it.

Tonight was always going to be a reaction. Let's see how we do at the weekend before getting carried away.
Riyad_Suarez Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 We could do a lot worse than our very own Shakey (Nigel Pearson).. "???y army, CRAIG SHAKESPEARE"
Mark_w Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Shakey is certainly the next best thing to a Nigel Pearson return.
