STUHILL Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Far too early to make this decision yet but what I will say, he impressed me a lot with how he managed the game. I thought switching Mahrez and Albrighton constantly, was a great way to throw off Liverpool's tactics to target the right side. Also, thought he got the subsitutions spot on and his general manner on the touchline was a joy to watch. He was very active and constantly demanding effort from the players. If we see another big performance against Hull, and he again looks tactically sound - then absolutely he should be at the top of the list.
Chico1958 Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Two or Three games and we'll see Comes across well on the media front and you can tell he's well thought of by the team. Full time Manager, TBH I'm not sure but time will tell

The Guvnor Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 If we win on Saturday Then sing loud and proud Give him the job Give him the job Craig Shakespeare Give him the job
thursday_next Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Whoever comes in will no doubt wish to appoint their own assistant manager. If they're forced by the owners to keep Shakey, as they no doubt will be, that's another potential personality clash on the horizon, and we can't afford that with 12 games to go. The players like Shakey and they're not going to appreciate him being marginalised yet again. It's a risk appointing anyone at this stage.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 I'm not convinced he could keep us up, but then I am probably wrong.
HybridFox Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Anyone find it weird how the club haven't publicly said anything today though? I know it's only the day after, but we do have a match in 4 days' time and he supposedly only had a 1 game remit. I fully do expect him to be in charge on Saturday but still, the club does tend to come up with surprises!

Webbo Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 Quote Craig Shakespeare to hold talks with Leicester owners on his future after Hull clash as Foxes prepare to jet off for warm-weather training Leicester’s owners have sanctioned a bonding trip to Dubai next week and plan to talk to caretaker manager Craig Shakespeare about continuing in the role upon the squad’s return. Shakespeare spoke to vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha and director of football Jon Rudkin since Monday’s 3-1 win over Liverpool but his remit was only extended to Saturday’s visit by Hull City. Should Leicester win, sources expect the 53-year-old to stay until the end of the season. Guest Col city fan Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 Motty on Football Focus saying just now what some of us had been thinking for months. The players had become completely confused by Ranieri's tactics, their roles in the various formations etc etc. The owners, being the typical loyal types they are, had kept him on for longer than they really should have done. It was clear that the club was in free fall quite some time ago, but the owners wanted to give Claudio a chance, to our detriment in the end. Finally, that Shakespeare looked well up for it today...
dynamark Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 Seems fair Col as lots of us suspected but I doubt Motty turned up at 11 and suddenly sources appeared from dark corners to give him the latest .A bit dramatic from the Mottster. The deed is done forsooth I sayeth.(We should all be speaking old English)

If they can............ he might and I mean might stand a chance

StriderHiryu Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 He's got to get it, at the least till end of season. We are back!
EGBFitness Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 Definitely has made him a serious contender, Sevilla and Arsenal coming up so will be interesting to see after then.
Foxxed Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 Great match. Stayed with the same formula. And defeated a different style of team. I was unsure about his subs. Gray did little when he came on. (Although his shot led to the corner, which led to the third...) But slim made an instant impact. Hard to argue against him. The players, especially Vardy, are fired up with him. The next match is Arsenal. And we'll have to rotate heavily, with Sevilla only days later. Could waiting until Arsenal and Sevilla be justified - might it actually make the team want to player harder?
Tuna Posted 4 March 2017 Author Posted 4 March 2017 Shakey will need some coaches if appointed, we're a gk coach and a couple of first team coaches down.
Aus Fox Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 Bend me Shakespeare any way you want me win like that and we're alright

foxfanazer Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 At the very least until the end of the season. He's got the players on side and has us playing some decent stuff. First and foremost though he's getting results
Pentatonic Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 First let's see how the team responds going a goal behind during an away PL game. That has been the club's achilles' heel all season long, and no one knows (yet) if Shakespeare could make the difference.
Foxxed Posted 4 March 2017 Posted 4 March 2017 Eh, announce him. For the remainder of the season. Then say his extension will depend on the season's remaining matches. That should fire him--and the team--up for the Sevilla match.
