And he puts it in the top bin

I've only ever seen this with the Soccer AM thing, where did it come from originally?

"He's a great technician." Wow I didn't know Adam Lallana could operate complex machinery

I'm guessing it's their brainchild.

I dont like hearing Merson and his cronies refer to hitting "the beans".

''Man Utd and Liverpool top-four contenders'' all the while, as if presenters and pundits think they deserve it despite not being good enough to challenge for the top-two.

Mersons hit the beans plenty of times.

Oh and Glen Hoddle - he was sacked for crazy madness and I had no issue with him getting back into coaching but now he's allowed to talk again on live match commentary - the worlds gone mad Jeff.

The talk of a player being World Class is becoming a bit annoying.

Linked in a big way to Sky and their 'best league in the world' talk.

The best thing about a player being called "world class" is it is almost always follows the statement "I know the term world class is over used these days, but..." lol.

World class is bad buts it's no "top, top player"

probably already been mentioned in here

It's fair to say 'Top, top player' has been ridiculed for a long time though.

Not so much a term commentators use, but in an international game between england and a small nation we have to constantly be reminded how small and bad the small nation is.

"And thats silivalivicius...hes playing his football these days in the cypriot 4th division but has bagged an impressive 2 goals this qualifying campaign" blah blah blah.

Patronise the shit out of the small team to make england look dominant.

Except its when england are 1-0 up and labouring as normal with zero quality themselves and germany would be 6 up

Been going on for a while now: referring to a club as 'the brand'.

Referring to 2-2 as Desmond on soccer Saturday is starting to bug me.

I think every phrase related to football has appeared in this thread at some point.

Not exclusively a football term but hate the word plucky. Such a patronising term used for an underdog after a match.

'Schmeichel double fisted punch'.

'Feet only clearance'.

Maybe this is just a Stringer thing.

Jamie Redknapp on some show or other : 'He's a top, top, top player.'
