SheppyFox Posted 7 July 2017 Author Posted 7 July 2017 Manchester City and Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho will in the next 72 hours undergo a medical at Leicester City after a fee which could potentially rise to £29m was agreed for his transfer. The 20 year old have already agreed personal terms on a five year deal which will see him earn twice his current pay at Man City, hence making him the highest earning Nigerian player in Europe. Iheanacho is expected to bid farewell to his City team-mates this weekend, bringing to an end an unhappy one year spell at the Etihad under coach Pep Guardiola after his breakthrough two seasons ago. As exclusively reported by this portal, the forward has been promised a new role by Leicester City coach Craig Shakespeare, who plans to play the forward in his favourite position behind the main striker. His imminent move to Leicester City will bring the number of Nigerian players at the club to three with Wilfred Ndidi who joined the team in January, and Ahmed Musa who joined them last summer completing the list.

desertfox2 Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Really hope we get this completed. It doesn't look like Sigurdsson is going anywhere. Kelechi will play the number 10 role. If we can get this done that's 3 top signings. Looking like a great window so far. We could be pushing Europe at this rate.

This is the most interesting article yet, confirming his position and role in the team. I'd imagine that's the end of our Siggurdsson pursuit, although Boudebouz might still be on given he can play on the wing or as a 10. I think this will be great for Ndidi too. Having one of his best friends on the pitch and at the club will bring out the best in both.
SheppyFox Posted 7 July 2017 Author Posted 7 July 2017 The highly talented Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho is closing in on a move to Leicester City this summer. According to BBC, the Nigerian is likely to cost the Foxes around £25m. Iheanacho is in advanced talks with Craig Shakespeare’s side right now and the move is expected to be finalised soon The 20-year-old forward made his first-team debut in 2015 and has scored 21 goals for Manchester City in all competitions since then. Iheanacho was already behind Aguero in the pecking order but the arrival of Gabriel Jesus in January has really damaged his first team chances. The Nigerian will now look to resurrect his career with a move to the King Power Stadium. Iheanacho’s pace and finishing ability should make him an ideal partner for Jamie Vardy next season. The Nigerian is a prodigious talent and could prove to be a sensational signing for the Foxes in the long run. The highly talented forward has a contract at Etihad until 2021 and City will have wanted to hold on to him. However, it is clear that Guardiola cannot provide him with the necessary first team assurances. At this stage of his career, Iheanacho needs to play regular first team football and a move to Leicester City makes perfect sense.

st albans fox Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Had West Ham not backed out then how long would citeh have traded each club off against each other? It's not like we just went in and got our man. It was a competition and for whatever reason, West Ham decided it wasn't for them. Hoping the player wanted to come here most and be with wilf. looking forward to the two of them sparking off each other. Happy players are productive players.

They all looked pretty happy from the start of the season when we won the league.

Since then we brought Islam Slimani, one of the top scorers in Europe for a club record fee, who has proved he can score in the Premier League, even if he hasn't been a complete hit. Compared to our Centre Back situation (prior to signing Maguire), it's not essential to buy a player like this, it feels more like a nice to have. Don't get me wrong I think it's a great signing and a very exciting one at that, I'm just saying I'd personally prioritise another Centre Back and a more creative number 10 type ahead of Ihenacho. It's just an opinion. And of course, there is a reason why I am sat at home on a Football Forum and not the manager of the almighty Leicester City Football Club :). I'm just a fan having my say! ?From what's being said it seems if this does happen, Iheanacho will be playing the No.10 role so Siggy is probably now surplus to requirements.

Iheanacho would play second striker, replacing Okazaki. Sigurdsdon is a creative attacking midfielder, which we badly need.
