So say the buyback is 42 million - how does this work?

Is it if we choose to sell or can they walk in at any point and slap 42 million down and we're shafted?

Buy back of £42m allegedly.

Medical tomorrow.

Stan you've been pretty spot on with most things you post, so I hope you're right about the medical.

Stone is spot on about Man City normally and Percy following is a good sing. Fingers crossed on this one.

They can walk in and slap down 42 mill and we will have no choice to sell.

Presumably if the player consents?

Assuming there is a minimum time he has to be here first? Not like they can come in in January and take him back lol

He won't wanna leave anyway when Vardy gives him a skittle vodka and they start tearing the league apart

Refuse to let myself believe this.

Just set up for enormous disappointment when he goes to West Ham for 12m and we sign Troy Deeney for 35m.

And it so nearly went that way!

lol Great looking at some of the early posts in this thread retrospectively.

I would assume we would have ensured he would be here for at least a season or two before it can be activated, otherwise that would be ridiculous

Watching this you notice just how unselfish he is, always looks for the better positioned player, suited to quick breaks as he has very decent pace. Could actually work with Vardy...

Good Lord this is exciting.

Watching him unselfishly break the length of the pitch at pace and nod balls on with his head and generally create in the final third... Him and Vardy could be absolutely lethal... We could do some real damage next season.

Put it this way he would have to have a good season here 20 goals plus; for Man City to use the buy back option.

Maybe but it doesn't always work that way, Barcelona have just signed Deulofeu back for reasons unknown to me.

Good point Mark, I think Barcelona see him as a squad player.

From Manchester City's perspective I doubt (although they are certainly loaded enough) to have Iheanacho as a squad player rather than first team player.

I imagine they'll sell/loan Deulofeu for a profit. That's the aim anyway.

Same could happen with Iheanacho. If his buy out is, say £35M, and he has a couple of good seasons here, the way the market is going it's possible that he could be worth £50M+ by then. Man City could buy him back and sell him for his value to make some easy money.

Why would Iheanacho want to do that?

Exactly he would have to agree to go, I can't see why he would choose to go if that was the case

That's the good thing about this clause. We have to accept the £42m from Man city but if PSG come in with £60m we are under no obligation to reject that offer.

I can't see him going back there personally

More money, potentially different manager at man city who wants him , promise of game time, champions league football etc

Need to get this 100 pages before the lock.  Following the lock and as Maynard is a free Agent at the moment,  may be the 'mods' can re-open that historical thread to keep us amused in addition to the Mahrez trilogy?
