Kelechi Iheanacho

Can see us getting screwed by the buy back. They'd just whack a big signing bonus on for him the pop back until sale to the highest bidder. Obviously no obligation on his part but large chunk of cash can sway decisions.

Hope we have lots of conditions on it: doesn't kick in for a while, can't be exercised in a Jan window, must return to Man City for a minimum period etc.

Ah brilliant it's open again! Even more sources reporting about Medicals now, one or two even saying tomorrow, Stan said that too I think? ?

This is the most excited I have been about a transfer since we signed Kramaric

I was pretty excited about Inler too. Hope he turns out better than both of those

Dunno who this guy is or how they'd know anything, but thought I'd post it anyway just to get you all going again.

Difference is we've seen Iheanacho in the Prem, so we already know he can cut it.  Inler and Kram we took a gamble.

Is there a definitive explanation of what a buy back clause actually means as it confuses the hell out of me. I get its not a loan and it's more like a sale with strings. I also realise that for example, Real Madrid sold Morata fairly cheap, watched him develop, bought him back under a clause and will no doubt in today's market make a killing but...

Let's say we buy Iheanacho for  £25M with a £30M buy back clause on a 3yrs contract.

1. If at any time we want to sell him, Man City effectively have first dibs at 30M?

2. Or, if he does exceptionally well,  can they just buy him back at any time they like even after 1 season?

3. What if after 2yrs, he's doing exceptionally well and we are too, he wants to stay with us, we want to keep him, can we offer him a new deal and he sign it?

I'm probably just thick.

Can we get a sell on clause for any profit made after the buy back clause has been activated? like %50 of all profit made after the buy back clause?

I think it's Man City get first dibs on the player at the agreed price if we want to sell him. He will be contacted to us for 3 years.

Look at his Twitter handle, I'd be amazed if he's older than 14, definitely not ITK lol
