Claims Culture

Those of you who have spent your PPI windfalls already, have another payday coming up.

If you have been on an all inclusive holiday, it appears if you had a dodgy stomach you can make a claim against the hotel.

Because you can prove you only eat at the one hotel, it's fairly easy to make a claim against them.

Looks like this this may well be putting an end to the all inclusive holidays, as punters take the hotel to the cleaners for a supposedly dodgy stomach.

Ker-ching.

Dubious morality, and it's already led to threats that Brits will no longer be offered all-inclusive deals.

And, predictably, it is only the Brits doing it.

How can you 'prove' you had a dodgy stomach though? Do you have to keep the contents of your guts as evidence?

Apparently, all that is required is a receipt for Immodium (sp?).

Flying back from Barcelona on Saturday and we were told at check in our flight was delayed by 50 minutes, the boards said however the flight was on time so we proceeded through security and sat in the terminal for an hour or so. Once the gate came up we then had to move through passport control into a smaller area of the terminal where a large queue had already formed at the gate. Woman from easyjet comes down on to the desk and all of a sudden people start having a go at her asking why we aren't getting ready to bored, in which she tells them the plane is 50 minutes late. Next thing you know you have people complaining they had left the main terminal early to ensure they got to the front of the queue, the cafe in this part of the terminal was closed so they hadn't ate and wanted compensating with priority boarding, or some refund for being made to wait lol. Couldn't quite understand what all the fuss was about, everyone is provided seat allocations once you have checked in so rushing to be 'first' didn't make sense to me. Unfortunately she had a lot of people seemingly vent their frustrations on her and she lost her cool seeming quite upset and said something along the lines of 'I do not have any control over the plane, my job is to prepare you for boarding, if you want to get on the plane first then you should have paid the extra money for the priority not take it out on me'.

The best part was when her colleagues then asked for people to offer to put larger carry ons into the luggage hold. No one towards the front of the queue seemingly wanted to do so. A family somewhere towards the middle offered to do so and return were asked to go and wait in the priority boarding line, meaning majority from the middle to back end of the queue also took advantage of this offer leading those towards the front visually fuming.

It amazes me that people feel they should be refunded for something as small as a 50 minute delay or having to stay on their feet for that bit longer because they feel the need to be ahead of everyone else.

Are you really surprised?

We've become a society that demands something for nothing, this is naturally the next step, I bet some people will even justify this as "they make a lot of money anyway" even when they are making it up.

It always amazes me what c***s people are on holiday, when you're supposed to be having a good time.

It applies to many areas of life, but when it's something you don't do all the time , like going to an airport, there are infinite opportunities for someone to stand there carping on about something in a loud voice that they don't understand e.g. the concept of priority boarding, so by the time I get on the plane I'm usually willing it to crash.

The worst of it is when stuff like this happens on the way back from holiday, when you're supposed to be relaxed. File these wankers in the same draw as that woman I used to sit near in A block who moans every single time she has to stand up to let someone by, even before the game has started

I think a huge part of the problem is that there is no smoking allowed once you've checked in. If they check in (as requested) a couple of hours before departure, then get delayed, it can mean several hours without a cigarette.

Many of these problems would be avoided if they had a smoking area, like they do at EMA.

Live stream vomiting in the restaurant? Zoom in on the food to prove you'd eaten there. Court day: the judge is squinting at your vomit and comparing it to the food. Zippo bag of the vomit is also analysed by a team of crack scientists. A third party is testifying the vomit is the same as in the video. It's the 21st century, dude. We have the technology. We can litigate him.

Its absolutely laughable. But as Matt P says, it's no surprise.

I'm afraid an awful lot of Brits really are scumbags at present.

Ain't like the old days. Men did a day's work. Instagram filter on your dick pick and you're a YouTube star these days. And kids can't even weld. World's gone mad.

I'm not sure putting dick pics on Instagram has a positive correlation with becoming a professional Youtuber.

I'll trust you on this one though, sounds like you've done some thorough research on the topic

I had similar when the BA issues hit the other week.

This family were going nuts, even requesting for their bags to removed from the plane, yet the delay at that point was an hour.

Then I heard him say that they really need a coffee as they had been waiting for so long and they were getting thirsty. There was a cafe right next to where we were sitting, but they only became thirsty when they thought they might be entitled to a free drink.

The amount BA charge in ratio to the service they provide and the responsibility they take for not providing it means they deserve everything they get. I'd have wanted a flat trolley for me to sleep on, free ale, a place to vape and some dancing girls.

I am not a parent myself but I can understand how parents would want to get on first so they can settle themselves and their kids in, unpack some toys out of their bags etc before the plane becomes really full with other passengers getting on.

I thought that they make them drink over 100ml of Calpol before security and getting them on the plane and seated before they slip into a coma is a priority to ensure the parents don't look well.. like they've drugged their shitbag offspring?

**** that. Mine are pretty well behaved but the thought of boarding 1st and having to endure another 40 odd mins before take off sod that.

Hate it when they admit they have missed the slot and the next one will be 1 hour but we got you to board incase we can leave earlier. Never does. And my kids need a piss before we even move.

There's only so much cbbc i can download onto the tablets lol
