HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Just chatting with my flat mate about worst players called up for England and inevitably we got to Carlton Palmer. So it got us thinking that there are so many worst 11 teams on the internet with most having 1 cap, we tried to find one where the players had to have at least 10 caps. Meaning it was not just giving a player an opportunity but in fact a manager being blind and crazy. Anyone fancy giving it a try?

But I'd need to go and research how many caps certain players got and I'm not sure I care enough to be arsed.
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Surely Alan Smith can be there too. Both of them probably.
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 How many caps did Steve Bull get?13. He's in.
manders86 Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Right let's give this a go. gk- David (calamity) James -53 caps. Narrowly beating Rob Green.. 53 international caps!!! rb- Danny Mills-19 caps. As bad a right back as he is a pundit. cb- Micah Richards- 13 caps. How did he get 13 caps?? Surely only league one standard now and he's still in his 20's! cb- Matthew Upson -21 caps. Around at a time Ferdinand and Terry were playing baffling he got so many caps Rw- Trevor Sinclair-10 caps. Lived his career around an overhead kick from outside the box, largely underwhelming. cm- Carlton Palmer-18 caps. Poor mans Junior Lewis cm- Tom Cleverley-13 caps. How did he manage to win these?? Unfilled potential but rarely offered anything for club or country Lw- Andy Sinton-12 caps. I have an unnatural hatred of Sinton, unsure why. Was useless for England st- Darius Vassell-22 caps. Although scored 6 goals for England his career burnt out properly by the time he was 26/27. st- Alan Smith 19 caps. Not the ex city legend but the Leeds thug! 1 goal in 19 caps says it all!! 200 caps between them. Pile of steaming ? Edit.. Probably should have a left back too! joleon lescott as an emergency lb-35 caps!

Think you are bit harsh on Vassell in terms of his England career. Also, as error prone James was, surely Green was worse? As for Cleverley, cant believe he has that many caps either.
Sir Shep Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Phil Neville got 70 odd caps didn't he, criminal! Mind you most English players who play at Man U get about 25% more caps than they should!

boots60 Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 The 11 who lost to Iceland in the euros. Probably the worst side I have ever seen.
Wymsey Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Just now, StanSP said: how on earth is Rooney the worst player for England with over 10 caps?! In the sense that almost every media going rile him whenever England fail on the big stage, moaning that part of it is his fault.
