What a cracking game ...   missed the first leg but this is all Man City ...   to use that old cliche ...   it’s a game of two halves ..   the one at Liverpool and the one here ...

Am I missing something? If hits milner and then bounces back, how was Sane offside?

I thought that. Commentators didn't seem to mention it at all on BT.

He’s onside because it’s come off Milner. Not easy for linesman to spot though I guess, where’s VAR when you need it.

He's onside anyway, he's inline with whoever that Liverpool defender is

He’s not, because the keeper’s in front of him.

To be in an onside position you need 2 players between you and the goal. Doesn’t matter who.

In any event it wasn’t offside because it came off Milner.

Hoddle and McManaman don't know the offside rule between them. How embarrassing.

Goal should have stood.

I watched Collina's documentary a couple of years ago where he defended criticism that the extra officials behind the goal do nothing, or bottle it and don't dare become involved. He showed numerous examples of a flowing dialogue with them, the referee and linesmen leading to some important decisions being made correctly. In that case the muppet next to the goal tonight should pay for his ticket if he's only going to stand and watch. Maybe he did contribute and speak out but was ignored, if not what's the point of having these guys there?
