Chris Wood - Cashback ?

Does anyone know if we get any percentage of the fee Burnley paid Leeds for him ?  I would hope we negotiated a cut of any future fee - but I bet Rudders didn't think of that !

If we did it's not going to be much, really.

Even 20% is only 3m. Wouldn't make a great amount of difference to us.

Is Rudkin just going to be blamed for everything and anything? It's getting quite excessive now.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I thought we got good money from Leeds at the time for our 23 year old 5th choice striker. I'm not going to criticise Rudkin for not putting a sell on clause when if it was my call I'd have just been looking to get as much up front as possible.

I don't know, I would have thought a sell on clause would be standard procedure for selling a 23 year old (especially an International, albeit for New Zealand).  A decent percentage (say 20% or 25%), if sold on at a price over what was initially received ?!

Did Burnley pay £15m - I haven't seen any figure quoted, except that it was said they paid their record fee ?

Think Rudkin has done us well this summer. Credit where it's due.

Wood in the Premiership who would have ever thought it. Presumably Leeds are desperate for cash and Burnley willing to squander it.

Leeds aren't desperate for cash - they spent the most since the era when they signed Fowler from Liverpool - I just think it's an offer they can't really refuse. Wood wants to leave and for £15mill they could get a replacement forward at that level with cash to spare.

I like Wood, I'll certainly clap him when we play Burnley, but it's a lot of money given he's only had one really good goalscoring season.

I personally find it difficult to know precisely what should be attributed to Rudkin and what shouldn't.

Most of what I see on FT is unsubstantiated rumours and third-hand accounts.

He's overseen the most successful period in the club's history, yet is often vilified on here.

Is his influence and his perceived incompetence really that significant?

Well most people blame him for transfers, contracts etc so considering we've brought in Maguire and Iheanacho who are exciting transfers, as well as not losing anyone important, I'll credit him for the summer so far,

Meh, nobody ever thought he'd make it, still don't think he'll do much for Burnley, lets hope not anyway

True - But we said the same thing about Harry Kane when he was here too!

Spiceworld.

lol

exactly what I thought as I read the title! That partridge fella has a lasting effect.

I was in a restaurant once when a chef very politely asked me to smell his cheese...

My response was to spit my wine out through both my mouth and nose.

back of the net...
