Ooh well, they won it when we had the 2 yellows at 15 each I think we might have edged that.

Tigers lose so that means a Foxes win Sunday, every cloud. 😉

Couple of new signings for next season announced this week

Loosehead prop Nicky Smith from Ospreys much needed as very thin on real quality in the prop positions we could still do with a tight head also.

The other seems quite exciting as he’s the junior springbok of the year Corne Beets

Beets, 20, is considered one of the best prospects in South African rugby having been a standout performer wearing the number eight jersey for his country in last year’s U20 World Championships.

Big boots to fill but will provide competition to Hatherall in that 8 position.

& another 1

Leicester Tigers have signed Australia international Izaia Perese for the 2024-25 season on an undisclosed-length deal from Sydney-based Waratahs.
The 26-year-old former rugby league winger was converted to centre after joining Waratahs from Bayonne in 2021
"He's a player that gets you out of your seat," said Tigers general manager Richard Wilks. "We set out to add a player with pace and power and we certainly feel we've done that."

+ JVP back fit & starts on the bench for tomorrows re-clash with Gloucester & i have a feeling the result will go our way this time with some of the big hitters back in. :fc:

I see we just beat Newcastle last night but the game ran to 100 minutes ????

how does that happen with a stop/start clock ?

Newcastle kept getting penalty after penalty at the scrum on the 22 which meant they kept resetting it but without getting too close to the line.

A Six Nations decider between Wales and France a few years back ran to a little over 100 minutes, so it's not unheard of.

Very difficult to get that far without some decisive mistake, infringement or score though.

Especially given that we were down to 13 for most of the period and 12 for a short time

but then that is also bound to happen with repetitive penalties which makes it all the more nuts that it lasted to 100 mins

Time for our annual knockout spanking from Leinster

started well but already down after 15 m and giving away a lot of pens at the breakdown

we were doing ok but turned down the chance of 3 pts before the break and then somehow managed to lose the period where we had a man advantage by throwing an interception

Thought the ref was a bit poor in the first half which also kicked our momentum. Did much better than I thought we would though

we seemed incapable of stopping their attack becoming a try though.   agree that  I expected a bigger defeat

a little frustrated on reflection because a bit better defence and a bit more accurate up top and we could have caused an upset

Bit of a surprise announcement

Club statement: Dan McKellar

Leicester Tigers can confirm the departure of Dan McKellar from his role as Head Coach with immediate effect.

The decision has been mutually agreed following extensive discussions regarding the club’s future direction.

McKellar joined Tigers in July 2023 from the Wallabies – where he was Assistant Coach for the Australian national side – and oversaw 30 games at Tigers, in all competitions, during the 23/24 campaign.

The club has commenced the process for finding a new Head Coach to lead the men’s programme into the 24/25 season. Pre-season training for the men’s players not on international duty commences on July 1 at Oval Park.
