With Mailata, who's 6-8 360lbs with incredibly long arms, there was only one position he was going to play - tackle. Which meant he could just crack on and learn the specific technical aspects of that position.

LRZ is 6-3 195lbs. That sort of body type is betwixt and between the ideal frame that NFL coaches look for in the skill positions (RB, TE, WR). It's not so obvious which position he should target or would be best suited to.

Correct.

I'd argue its easier to learn & master the tackle position than WR/RB if starting from scratch.

No one has cracked that position yet on the crossover to a point of earning a multi year million dollar contract.

As a good a player as LRZ is I doubt it'll transition across and will be back in RU in 2/3 years.

A guy is willing to change course in mid-career,people love to jump up and create variables, and ride the told you so Brigade. Those stories stay where they belong,on paper, while his story belongs in the media and supporters following this young man’s challenge..

Good. Luck youngman, have the audacity and mental aptitude to prove the doubters wrong….I’ve seen  both sides, some return not because of failure, but preference to their original loves..Simular to RU/RL swap outs..

Awful reffing and he is stood there watching it, problem is Rugby always stay quiet. They should call out reffing as poor as this

Hmmm...

Bad reffing should be called out, but seeing crowds at football lets you know exactly where that leads if it isn't very well directed - pretty much any reffing gets called out and it makes the game poorer as a result.

Nothing about the crowd but explain how the try was given when the guy had both knees on the floor and then played on. The ref had a clear view and you had ever single commentator calling no try and numerous replies that the TMO sees clearly sees and yet the try is given. That is going to kill the game and fans will stop going. They have the technology to stop these poor decisions yet decide not to

I unreservedly agree that the decision made was wrong. I don't agree that the crowd should have much part in weighing in on that decision while the game is going on, because football shows it's obvious where that ends.

Agreed the crowd should have no involvement but that is a shocking decision that with all the technology they have (unless Fujitsu supply it) should not have been awarded.Would love an explanation who the reffing team saw that as a try  On a positive though it will be mayhem when he refs Wales V Ireland

Doesn’t matter. They rank all the qualifiers 1 to 16 on basis of the group records.

it’s rubbish because

1) it isn’t a surprise they are matched up given they have a direct effect on each other

2) Tigers group was considerably the strongest pool in quality

The same thing has happened with Bordeaux v Saracens, Stormers v La Rochelle, Bulls v Lyon, Northampton v Munster.

Absolute nonsense format

Proof if ever was needed that people get to places of importance without having any brain cells ……

Thought that had been well and truly shat. lol

If Tigers could scrummage they'd have romped that.  Miles better in the line out and winning the kicks, all their problems came in the scrum.

Phew.

It’s worrying because unless you can scrum you’re always up against it to put an opponent to bed. How long will we be struggling for props ??

That’s it now I think, no more league games during the 6 nations.
