Is it like the French ?

Good at home but poor away .

Yes and no. Stormers made the quarters last year.

It’s more a case that the format - ie four teams from six for qualification means that teams are prioritising their home fixtures. Feeling is the South African teams are being canny at the moment with the travelling they endure too - same happening in the URC, send weakened opposition abroad and win your home game. Be a good game next weekend when Stormers play La Rochelle

Brilliant & much needed result for Tigers to keep them in the chase.

ok Bath turned up missing some big players, non more so than Russell who has turned them into title contenders, but still.

Bath have the meanest defence so to get the BP in the first half is a big win & credit deserved.

Wiese must be the best 8 in the league and must be pushing the world (despite not being the starting 8 for SA) & will be a huge miss when he leaves 😔

7 pts from playoffs with 8 to play, WC didn’t do us any favours with us losing the 1st 4 or 5 until the names came back & the new coach but you can see what’s happening down (M) Welford Rd 👍

Great game and a brilliant win for Tigers v Sarries.

If not for handling errors it could / should have been a bonus point but a win in a must win game against Sarries is just fantastic.

It will still be a huge effort to make top 4 from here

Not often I can watch us play Sarries without sweaty palms the whole way through!

Was a great game to watch!

Really enjoy how tigers have the open area with bars and different food trucks pre game.

Also love the first team squad walking to the warm up through the fan areas, think that's a really nice touch.

With the opposition down to 13 and allowing your opponents to score isn't very good.

Handling errors did cost us during that period but yes not good that we don’t get points but they did.

French sides in France just a different beast, watching Bordeaux currently 7 tries up v Sarries with only a 3pt penalty in return & still 20minutes to play

Stop the planet I'm getting off.

Seriously fvck this shit. I'm done.

You should our squad announcement for the 6N. It's like a who's who of literally "who?"

So that's our most talented winger in generations off to cosplay being American whilst our second most talented winger is pretending to be English.

Add that to Regan Grace ready to sack off union and fvck off back to Super League after one injury and let's not even talk about the Joe Hawkins debacle.

Honestly fvck the WRU. Fvck them so much.

Definitely.

Obviously felt disheartened with rugby and wanted a new challenge.

Probably also looked at the wages over there. Getting signed and you're on for a decent wage, assume compare that to union wages anywhere but France currently.

The state of rugby in the UK is a joke. Stuck in the old days as an old boys club and stubborn/ resistant to change, whilst also trying to be like the Premier League. The sheer arrogance in the game and lack of future proofing will have a knock on impact for the next generation and it'll go down hill fast.

Make it more accessible for players and fans, and very quickly figure out how to structure the leagues for competition, not just the money grabbing elite.

I think the largest issue to any change is the lack of money.

Obvious answer is an Anglo Welsh league with two tiers but how do you get a new TV deal, give the Welsh regions a good finance incentive and sort out English club problems. Fundamentally the money isn’t there in the game to sort it.

It was but everyone decided to piss it up the wall on wages.

Chances of him breaking into the NFL without playing the game collegiately are incredibly small. He'll be back playing rugby within a couple of years.

Yup, it all depends on which team and how much time he is given to develop. Without knowing much about rugby, I'm sure he's looking at Jordan Mailata on the Philadelphia Eagles in terms of recency. Australian born, of Samoan descent, followed the same international development model. Drafted by the Eagles in 2018, didn't play for 2 years, and is now in the midst of a $64 million contract as the starting left tackle. It will take time, whether or not it even works.

With Mailata, who's 6-8 360lbs with incredibly long arms, there was only one position he was going to play - tackle. Which meant he could just crack on and learn the specific technical aspects of that position.

LRZ is 6-3 195lbs. That sort of body type is betwixt and between the ideal frame that NFL coaches look for in the skill positions (RB, TE, WR). It's not so obvious which position he should target or would be best suited to.
