Castagne is one of the most overrated players on the forum, probably behind only Praet.

I think he is one of the most under rated. Praet and Justin on the other hand

Also (& I’ll mention again) the hatred for Rodgers is killing the forum

The LCFC section of the forum is as toxic as botulinum right now.

I don't even think that's unpopular, and perhaps not even an opinion rather than a simple matter of record.

I've grown to quite like them as I get older. Depends where though. If it's a really cheap one full of Brits and Germans I'd probably avoid it.

I did one off-season on the Portuguese coast. I really rather enjoyed it. Loads of walking, just daily out-and-backs from the hotel. Breakfast and dinner there (many other places closed anyway) worked in that context.

It was booked from a local rag advert too. A town centre coach pick up to the airport. I think we were easily the youngest people on it, by about 40 years!

I'll take your word for it. I've no idea what botulino is ;) something toxic I presume.

The toxicity of the forum at the moment doesn't overly bother me in honesty. I see it as a reflection of the depth of genuine feeling. The repetitive nature of it gets me a little though, and the willingness to twist just about everything to anti Rodgers spin is almost relentless.

I was in Morrisons (a different one) the other day and the price of tomatoes! Bloody Rodgers!!

I really don't like the east coast of England. I find it bleak, generally pretty miserable and boring.

I'd rather spend an extra hour in the car from Leics and go to Dorset or Hampshire.

Did you know, there's a Miami Beach, a California and a Gibraltar on the east coast?

Agree to an extent. (I also think Cornwall is overrated - much rather be in North Devon/Exmoor.) In terms of the east, I'm very fond of the East Riding, North Yorkshire and the Northumbria coastline - the latter is an AONB.

Cleethorpes, Skeggy, Mablethorpe, Hunstanton, Cromer, Gt. Yarmouth...in fact right down to Clacton - less so.

California I knew about, but not the others.

I agree with Cornwall too, we found it very overrated, busy, expensive, and we found we much prefer Devon too.

I've never been as far north as Northumbria but the East Riding coast is beautiful. One of my favourite coastlines is South Wales, particularly the Gower peninsula, and Anglesey is beautiful too.

So many places on the UK would be way above the east coast on my list of coasts to revisit.

I've never done one, and I can't forsee a time when I would.

So much about a holiday for me is getting out and about, eating and drinking locally. My worst holiday nightmare would pretty much be feeling tied to eat in the same hotel every night.

So you wouldn't be tempted to come to Britain for an all inclusive break here?

Mind you, that would mean a couple of weeks in Butlins, Skegness. Even then you could still get out and eat and drink locally. I hear that Tennant's Extra is particularly good this time of year. And the fish is to die for (of).

Agree most of the way but the coast around nearly all of Northumberland is stunning. I think my favourite seaside area in the country. It’s also a lot quieter, even at more tourist places like Bamburgh.

Most toxic substance known to mankind - around 75 nanograms is the median lethal dose for humans.

I went to one and had a great time because:

a) my kid was really little so we could go outside of school holidays at the start of the season when it was warm but quiet

b) the in-laws paid as it was my Missus' 40th and it was a much better place than we'd usually be able to afford

c) the place was massive and had loads of different pools and different restaurants on site so you didn't feel trapped there

Been to two different ones since that were a lot busier and not of the same standard and they just felt like you were in competition with other people for food and pool space and that was absolutely shite.

Lesson learned: they're alright if you're prepared to pay an absolute fortune

Drinking in the house is rubbish.

Slowly drinking a strong ale or a good wine with a book in the winter is one of life's real pleasures.

And it's Geordie-land innit?

Sarcasm aside. It really is a lovely part of our east coast. Just gotta get through the shitty A1 to get there.

Gonna try this come December. Recommendations please. Also do you know of a nice warm blanket to put over my knees because we can't afford heating.

16th Century stuff.  Sitting in a cold draughty chamber with bats flying past my head.

I need to find the recipe for home made mead.

I’m off to Zante next week doing this for 1 week, will report back !
l just fancy a lazy week, pool, beer when l fancy it & decent grub.

l love travelling, city breaks, even cricket abroad. Sometimes it’s just nice to literally do virtually nothing.
