A guy leading a lorry driver into a parking space in pigeon French for what seemed like an age only for the driver to get out and say 'are there many of you French fellas in Sheffield' Always amused me. It's on youtube but I'm too old to know how to post it here.

WigstonWanderer Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 I formally withdraw any negative comments I may have made, or thoughts I may have had regarding the appointment of Claude Puel.

sdb Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Just got in. Most positive thing about this guy? We have a manager who is a tactician. Not sure how long it's been but maybe decades?! I mean I loved our last 3 managers, but Shakey was a coach, NP was a dad figure they ran through walls for, and Ranieri only knew one way to play. This man I think can teach our talented players a lot.
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 For me this feels like the first time in about 8 years we have had an actual change, Pearson and Shakey were 2 of the same and ranieri just carried on what we had before. Puel will now bring a whole new aspect to us we haven't seen in so long. I'm absolutely buzzing to see what he can bring, I love his mannerisms in interviews and can't wait for more from him! Welcome Puel!
Tielemans63 Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Love some of our fans. Before the game he's the new Peter Taylor - 90 minutes later he's up there with Sir Alex Ferguson He did well today but it's one game! For all we know Appleton may have picked the side.

catfordfox Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Fascinated to see what he does with Gray - if it's true that he was responsible for developing Henry's trademark 'cut in from the left and curl it in the corner' move, give him a couple of months with Gray and we could have something seriously special on our hands

He's an absolute football 'nut' and has a keen interest in the game 'over there'! I messaged him for his views when it became apparent that Puel was rocking up at Leicester. He's (just), got off his arse and replied lol!! Says that, in France, Claude Puel is incredibly well thought of....One of the best 'tactical' coaches in many years in that league. Apparently there was a general feeling of disbelief when Saints 'binned him' . Quite a story by all accounts that he's taking over at Leicester. According to Rob, nigh on all the locals he's spoken to reckon we've pulled of a bit of a coup here....Just have faith that they're right! Oh, and as a 'ps'. Planque, by all accounts, isn't one.......he's an astute, determined individual by all accounts, yet a 'joker' too, who was absolutely adored/respected in equal measure by his players...Supposedly a very likeable man ! I am quietly optimistic that we may, just, have found ourselves a very special manager here ! I saw similar things on another forum I post on too. Was originally disappointed based on his pretty average season with Southampton but once I read the thought of fans in France and his reputation for getting smaller clubs really playing and often bloodying the nose of the bigger clubs over there is made me a lot more excited.
fuchsntf Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 I dont know how people can have the "gaul" to even criticise him.

Finishing 8th and being robbed in a cup final is not a pretty average season. Happy days going forwards if it is.

st albans fox Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 For me, yesterday was never going to reveal too much about him. A few days with the boys this week and a trip to Stoke will tell us far more.
