Thinking back, only Mark McGhee, MON and Sven have got me excited

when first appointed and only one of them turned out well.

I coming round to this guy, I think he will do well.

Now then, clean sheet for everyone...We dont need only a team on the field, but the board and the Backroom

staff have to stop playing silly buggars, and pull together.

More Bistros in the town, free croisants on match day...and we have to learn the 'Marseillaise'...some great verses.

Bienvenue Claude I really do hope you have a long successful career at Leicester

Not only for your sake but for the sake of all of us here at FT

Ps: Is that OK ?

Sounds like he knew this job would come up during the season and has done his homework. Could be really important in that he hits the ground running as a result. He see,s to have more tactical nouse than previous managers and we saw in the title winning season how good the players were at carrying out detailed instruction, so fingers crossed

I think fans perception will always be split at first.

example being im really pleased with this appointment, but I’d be horrified if we hired Eddie Howe..... whereas I know the majority of those against Puel would jizz themselves over us getting someone like Howe.

The only important views are those after 6 and 12 months when he’s showed us what he’s really about at OUR club.

Thats when you’ll get a more uniform consensus to love or hate for Puel.

I hope, just like I did with the don, that everyone will come round to him.

Message for the mods - I think there's a glitch on here, there's a thread that wants positive responses. I hope that this is sorted soon and normal service will resume soon.

Thanks from a concerned user

It's just like Ranieri. The immediate reaction is uninspiring but again you have to look a little deeper. Taking Southampton out of the equation, (where he had injuries and out of form strikers low on confidence so style of play was dictated by that), he's got a pretty decent record and apparently prefers a high pressing style of play.

This could be a really good appointment.

Time will tell but give the guy a chance to let it tell.

All that plus got 8th and a cup final... won trophies in France and got Lyon to the CL semi-final. For me doesn’t sound like a bad appointment and he knows how to get results which is what matters most

What a farcical situation. Our owners are so in the dark about our previous success that they appoint a manager who reminds them of Ranieri. Crucially he will be a yes man to Rudkin. That seems to be the driving factor for our decision making these days.

Claude is not the right appointment for Leicester City. He will struggle to win over our dressing room full of strong characters, who will be underwhelmed by this appointment.

The context has changed since Ranieri. The players have proven themselves as PL champions and will expect better than Puel. He will need to impose himself on the players and win them over from day one - which is not by all accounts his personality strength.

Tactical knowledge is pointless if you can't convey it to your players. Or motivate them to perform!

I despair that our owners and senior management have no concept of an identity or blueprint for our club. Blindly switching from one style of manager to the next without consideration of an overall plan.

How many more managers will it take for them to learn what is staring everyone else in the face. Our success came from a long term, holistic approach, starting with finely honed player recruitment.

Our saving grace is that we have Appleton - who will be no doubt be running the show with Vardy, Morgan and Kasper, while Puel fumbles around with his own parallel backroom staff!! The management practice of setting up competing parallel staffing structures is a stroke of genius that only Leicester City is capable of implementing - you won't find that in Harvard Business Review!

Puel: What do you mean you don't know what 'passing' means?

But officer, I just said to zee lady "I am looking for zee beaver, the place of much physical activity, I need direction" and she scream, I no understand?

Exactly, it's not like he actually did a bad job at Southampton, most of the moaning about him has been because of the style of play. There were reasons for it as there was with Shakey being too cautious.

First team selection will be interesting.
