Heard that interview this morning and Puel is definitely highly regarded in France. Interestingly Laurent also said that if you look at Southampton’s goal scoring record this season (8 goals in 9 games) and points per game they haven’t improved dramatically since Puel left which may indicate that their “boring football” wasn’t entirely down to Puel.

the fox Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 so excited for this appointment! from what i heard: he likes to keep he ball he has a pretty good resume he doesn't like hoofball he wants his fullbacks to be more involved offensively he will free up riyad from the defensive duties him playing a diamond with attacking fullbacks will stop the team from playing predictable football plus, i like okazaki but he probably can allow kelechi/slimani to play at the same time with vardy i'm pretty happy with that

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 27 October 2017 Posted 27 October 2017 His CV is impressive and the negativity seems solely to be based on him finishing 8th and getting to a cup final with Saints (which ain't the whole story, but at the same time ain't too shabby for first season in the Prem). If he makes the squad more comfortable with possession based football, and actually having a good plan b, then it may well be a great fit.
