An Away Move Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Claude is French for Claudio, isn't it? We were underwhelmed when Claudio was announced and a good few of us are now that Claude has been announced. These are good omens! We're gonna win something!
mozartfox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Serious question chaps: Is hoofball with no plan B more palatable then boring football?
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. End my life now. I know nothing about him but don’t care as he isn’t the king of the world. I have no background info on inside info but I don’t care as it is wrong, all wrong. I’m going to cry into my assumptive hat that I don’t even own yet. Boo hoo.

What is boring football if not defensive hoof ball? I thought that’s the archetypal boring football; Pulis style. If Puel likes to pass it about, that cannot be too boring, surely?
dannythefox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Even though I don't think it's the right appointment l'll back every manager when they walk through the door. Hopefully he'll be a breath of fresh air and we can push on and have a steady season.

one F in Fox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 I was wandering if he spoke english during his interview or had a translator?
Redouane Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 He's had positive results in every club he's been in..
peach0000 Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 So at monaco he wins ligue 1, at lille he leads them to 2nd place, at lyon he gets them to the champions league semis, at nice he gets two top 4 finishes and in his only season at southampton he gets a top eight finish and gets to a cup final. He's done an exceptional job wherever he's gone.

Our Championship winning side is history. We are currently a lower half team, with one exceptional and beautiful season where all the planets came into alignment. Pushing on to a solid top half performance and either European football or a cup final would have been considered an exceptional season at all times apart from 18 months ago. When you look at the alternatives, Puel is a good option.
Callabinho Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 I thought Southampton were a decent striker away from tanking us last season.... he needs a chance at least, the main worry is can he get the best out of the lads or will he try and do a Sousa and then us into a budget Barcelona over night.... all we can do is wait and see!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Always get behind the new man in charge. I want my team to do well and negativity from fans does nothing to help. Even though he's not my first choice by a long way, he should be given a chance, with the fans fully behind him. Innocent until guilty in essence.

Welcome Claude , eighth and a cup final will be just fine thank you.
FoxinNotts Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 If we start fast against Everton they won't have enough to get back at us. Puel is obviously a clever man, he'll recognise this kind of thing, and he'll do well for us

ZeGuy Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 1 hour ago, Steve Agnew said: What a farcical situation. Our owners are so in the dark about our previous success that they appoint a manager who reminds them of Ranieri. Crucially he will be a yes man to Rudkin. That seems to be the driving factor for our decision making these days. Claude is not the right appointment for Leicester City. He will struggle to win over our dressing room full of strong characters, who will be underwhelmed by this appointment. The context has changed since Ranieri. The players have proven themselves as PL champions and will expect better than Puel. He will need to impose himself on the players and win them over from day one - which is not by all accounts his personality strength. Tactical knowledge is pointless if you can't convey it to your players. Or motivate them to perform! I despair that our owners and senior management have no concept of an identity or blueprint for our club. Blindly switching from one style of manager to the next without consideration of an overall plan. How many more managers will it take for them to learn what is staring everyone else in the face. Our success came from a long term, holistic approach, starting with finely honed player recruitment. Our saving grace is that we have Appleton - who will be no doubt be running the show with Vardy, Morgan and Kasper, while Puel fumbles around with his own parallel backroom staff!! The management practice of setting up competing parallel staffing structures is a stroke of genius that only Leicester City is capable of implementing - you won't find that in Harvard Business Review! Cool story mate.

psychonaut Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Puel's facial skin looks slightly hard like he's been shaving with a sharp hunting knife for the last 30 years, a real man, a quiet unassuming intelligent man. Welcome Mr Puel / Mr Cool
Nigel Graham Pearson Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Just looking forward to seeing how this one pans out. Seems like nobody, other than the blindly positive/negative, has a clue if he’s going to do well here. Team sheet will be more interesting than it has been in a long time, come Sunday.
shilton_fox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Reserving judgement. Decent record could have been a whole lot worse
Welwyn Saint Posted 26 October 2017 Posted 26 October 2017 Gents - Saints fan since 1983. Was vehemently opposed to the dismissal of CP - not because he encouraged spectacular football or gave captivating interviews, but because as far as I was concerned 8th (albeit the lowest ever points total for 8th), Wembley and beating Inter Milan was a decent chapter in what had been - until your mob came along - quite a good rags to riches story. Realistically not sure what clubs of our means are supposed to expect beyond top half and a flirt with silverware. Wish the ever-pragmatic CP well and, as much as I didn't enjoy being chased all the way back to Leicester station in 2001, good luck in the other 36 games this season...
