Wouldnt go that far.

But our football has improved a lot already under puel. Getting fullbacks on the overlap, pass and move making angles, not panicking at the back. Its encouraging.

Meh. Goals still mean the same thing to me, some of my favourite teams have been solid as a rock and took their most precious chance, like the Greek national team in less recent times.

I hope we keep developing variability though, some teams you need to dominate and pick apart on the edge of their own box, others you need to give abit of a sly boot into to pipe them down and others you need to defend like your life depends on it while being cold blooded enough to score when the chance comes.

To say it's beautiful ect. obviously brings up memories of that poor done by, ultimate football playing, cheated by tactics lot from Norf Landun; who played 'the best football in the League©' - We all know what happened there

:blink::nigel:

We may be playing a lot better than what we have been and certainly better than a lot of teams but we are still making some big mistakes and defensively we do still look slightly suspect.

But yes! We do play some lovely football at times and it's beautiful to watch. Tighten up at the back and then who knows!

But wouldn't you prefer it if we actually played some great football and still won games as opposed to the hoof ball stuff and winning?

Both goals we conceded yesterday were as a result of panicking at the back ?

We can be far too slow moving the ball around and we have a tendency to play the ball behind the man rather into the grass when breaking forward, it's definitely a lot better than it has been.

Maybe the 2nd - the first just looked like they got in behind and we didn't have a man tracking Joselu.

Yes, fair enough Highpeak. the first goal was just us being caught cold.

There is real variation in our play now, which makes us unpredictable. That is a huge step up from where we were... although let's not forget, we did win the title playing absorb and counter football and not much else. During that season teams were arrogant and let us play that way thinking "it's only Leicester, we'll beat them" and they couldn't. The next season they got wise and stymied us, but we couldn't change our style under Claudio or Shakey and paid the price. Now, under Claude, we have moved on. Check out those possession stats v Newcastle!

I love it. After the rubbish we churned out under Shakespeare, we are now really good to watch under Puel. 60% + possession yesterday - in an away game!

A very important point - for large portions of the game, we owned the park.

We are certainly varying it and not overly reliant on the quick front to back now. Jamie is probably going to suffer a little by virtue of this as we are negating his main strength. However it will positive in the long run as we needed to evolve and we can't be overly reliant on one player and only have a plan A. The future looks bright.

I can't emphasize the difference it makes having a centre half who wants to use the ball. This sets the tone throughout. Maguire has been fundamental to this change and probably Puel tactics as well.

I agree with this, but, as someone else rightly pointed out, Vardy is still essential to the success of this, as he's that good that he occupies defenders and thus creates the space for the 3 behind to exploit. Not as sexy as scoring game after game I grant you, but worth every penny.

I feel we can get Mahrez and gray varying their play a bit more and making more one/two touch passes then things will improve. WE're still not ruthless enough for my liking.

I am sure it has been mentioned elsewhere, but watching the highlights back showed some lovely touches from Albrighton - that cushioned pass for the 2nd goal was exquisite, for example.

Puel seems like one of those coaches who improves players. Albrighton is now showing aspects to his game that we hadn’t seen before. I also think that Marc is probably too nice for his own good so might not be aware of how good he can be.

A coach who can improve our players technically is just what the doctor ordered. It’s going to help the young players in the team now and the ones that will likely come through in the seasons ahead.

Love your positivity.  Maybe not that good but our forward line is porn!

What i mean is we trust our ability to be patient and build from the back rather than low percentage passes and trying to pick up seconds or getting vardy in.

I think there has been TOO much guff spouted about possession where it has become fashionable to say "yeah...well we won with 22% possession so its totally irrelevant".

It became a hipster thing.

If you want to control games you have to control the ball. Or youll be forever in a state of trying to pinch games and hold on.

Already our possession numbers are going up 15 to 20% in some cases. Players look confident on the ball, not kicking it away as far as possible as if it were a grenade.

Its a step up from the last 18 months, but the best football I've seen us play was in the 1st 6 months of Claudio's reign. We really were breathtaking in some of those games, regardless of possession stats.

Yeh I kind of agree. But because we’re currently having more of the ball than we did under CR we’re having to find things to do with it, which we are. And it’s nice possession at that
