Still not at our best, manager trying players and formations out, yet still in the FA Cup, 8th in the league (with 7th in sight), 4 consecutive clean sheets, and yet some miserable twats manage to find negatives to dwell on. It's like the online equivalent of those fans at matches (we have all experienced them) who slag certain players before they've done anything wrong, yet ignore anything positive they do, because it stalls the narrative.

I sometimes wonder what these people need to notice things going in the right direction - it doesn't take much of a leap of imagination to see how bad things could have been by now.

Feel better now Peaky ...    :)

Errr ...   righto boss! ...     I think it was the use of the word ‘twat’ that fooled me into thinking you’d had a drink ...    my mistake ..   :)

Anyway, ..   of course there are moaners ..   there always will be ...  nothing new there.   Overall I am extremely pleased with CP and I’m sure he knows there is some real work still to be done ...   our brilliant team had really stagnated and, along with some dire signings, left us in an tricky situation ...   however ! ...   we now seem to have a man to take us forward so my glass is definitely half full ! ...    I could go on for ages ...   and by the way ..   I’ve had a right skinful tonight ! ...:)

Literally 20seconds before his first goal my Dad messaged me and my bro saying Nacho does nothing. Boom. Thanks Dad!

Nice to see Rob Kelly today, looks like he's  assistant at Fleetwood. Love the guy!!!!

Was a steady performance with lots of positives to take away. The second half was good, professional and saw some of our players get much needed match sharpness, I'm pleased for Nacho and Silva.

Thank god that we wanted it in the second half, first half was drab and we were lucky to not be behind. Iborra really struggled, still undecided on whether he is right for this team. And the 1st half confirmed what I was talking about yesterday, tippy tappy slow build up football is easily stiffled by even a league 1 defence parking the bus, it wasn't until we were more positive on the ball and drove forward via Gray and Silva that we looked dangerous. We must be quicker and more direct on the ball, otherwise the opposition has too much time to shape the defence.

Overall, a good performance, but still lots to do on reshaping this squad and fine tuning our style of play.

Benny must go, he is awful! Amartey is also shakey, his ball control is pretty poor. We need a few additions in Jan/summer to replace the dead wood.

Agree with most of this. Especially the bit about moving the ball quicker. Mahrez needs to receive the ball higher up the pitch. When he gets it 10-20 yards inside his own half he has too much to do but 10-20 yards in the opposing half and he's very effective. His pass for the second goal was majestic. Only a very few players in the Premier League are capable of that kind of precision and have the technical ability to deliver it. And some people think he's worth only 50million!

Completely agree on Benny. Hard to think we reportedly paid 8 million euros for him. Persoanlly I'd pay off his contract if we can't shift him on he's barely league 1 standard.

You sound like Trump. A coherent one which is odd.

we are still making history.as we have scored the first goal using VAR and it was good to see Kalechi get his goals while Slimani was frustrated at being taken off. we were always likely to win the match and it was just a case of how professional the players would take this game. Benny again made a reckless challenge and got his customary yellow card, he never seems to learn!.

I honestly love Benalouane.

You genuinely never know what he's gonna do next.

I want to like him, I think because he's essentially a circus seal, but he is so incredibly gash

"Our best defender" according to shed loads on here at the end of last season. No, just no.

Hate the bloke as a player.

Remember that Benny played both games against Athletico Madrid, one of the most important fixtures in our history.

As I recall, he did alright and wasn't particularly to blame for us going out.

Still, I concede that he is prone to do some crazy stuff, he doesn't appear comfortable on the ball and he has little or no chance of playing for us if any two from Maguire, Morgan, Huth and Dragovic are fit and available.

He might have done, but I didn't like him and still don't. As a back up I never had an issue, the I just never saw him capable of earning a starting spot over anyone else. He can't pass, despite people saying he was our best passer (worst pass ratio out of the lot of them), dives in to much and leaves space, makes rash challenges. He's one of them that you just know something is coming mistake wise.

Thought we looked lethargic and disjointed first half.

Iborra and Silva really struggled and were far too slow.

Slimani huffed and puffed but had far too little service, yet he still set up Nacho twice (early chance was easier than his goal tbf).

I haven't seen it mentioned, but I actually thought him and Nacho linked up well in general. Slim was unlucky to get subbed, especially as early as he did.

Second half was miles better with far more urgency.

It coincided with Albrighton coming on, Iborra and Silva in particular starting to find their feet and Nacho looking hungry and able.

Would've been fun had Vardy had a moment of importance in this tie.

If we take the tie against Peterborough as seriously as the second half yesterday, we'll stand an excellent chance of progressing! :scarf:

why did we put mark albrighton on and take slim off?  Puel is either a genius or an idiot - any guesses?

I suppose Puel wanted to stretch play more and Slimani was deemed the expendable one.

Nowt wrong with bringing on Albrighton in my opinion.
