Absolutely love the Salmon. Proper old school pub with good beer and bar food. I'm glad it's so far from the ground, or it would be rammed.

Yeah great boozer, I should make the effort to get to it more often. Do also like the Cherry Tree just around the corner.

Love the Cherry Tree, Bobby and Joe are cracking owners.

Haven't been in the Cherry Tree yet, but heard good things.

I'm just glad to have finally settled on a new pub following the closures of the Font and Swan & Rushes, tried plenty earlier in the season and none felt right.

Matchdays haven't been the same since the Swan closed.

My old haunt…. Hope someone takes it over…. I’ve been going for more years than I care to remember!

Why did it shut?

It can’t run off trade from 20 odd days a year…. Didn’t diversify and no food to speak of…. Pubs need more strings to their bow in our days

Good pub with good beer is not enough it seems

i never went unless it was a match day to be fair

For a 3pm KO - The Locker Room for the early game, onto The Distillery (old Slug and Lettuce) for a few decent ales, walk down by the Bowling Green for a few jaeger's then onto the KP

Yeah me too. Weird to walk into such a pub and be greeted by a Scottish bouncer. Good beer though, snacks and on my walk to the ground.

What happened to the Swan? I was out of the country for a few years and went to very few games. Came back permanently this summer and it's closed down.

I understand the leaseholder had a serious illness and had to give it up. Closed the night of the Sevilla home game.

Not looking good, apparently the new leaseholder is applying for planning permission to turn it into yet another Oriental supermarket. :(

Landlady works on the door now does she not?

Indeed she does, went there for first time in years, the other week, and was shocked at her abrasive attitude!

Didn' t stay long if I'd wanted that sort of welcome I could have gone home to Mrs BTS :D

Does the Huntsman on Narborough Rd still exist? Used to work in there a few years ago while at uni.

Not sure if it's still a pub or a West Indian restaurant or these run side by side.

Went in to use the toilet before my first ever game way back when. Felt it had a really edge to it.

Yeah it changed hands quite a few times and was never manged very well, was always seen as being a bit rough and dodgy. Just had a look and it seems to be an African restaurant now!

Walk past the Huntsman on the way to every game. Definitely still has the pub element to it, fans spilling onto the new decking for every match. Always did give off that whiff of dodgy, but genuinely no idea if it still is. Feels like whoever owns it now is giving it a real go.

Just on the Local Hero. I very very rarely ever go to a pub pre-match, but interested to know why they think a DJ blaring out crap music was/is a good idea? Awful.

Bus into town then we start in orange tree for a relaxed pint and footy chat, then onto the bowling green for a chip butty then get to the bobby peel for about 2pm.

Take in about four pints pre match then one after in the western.

If we do one pub only then it's the western,
