We have Dragovic on loan who is proving to be very good and a new first team left back in Chilwell (a year ago he couldn't be considered that). We also have Amartey who is now a steady right back. Credit where credit is due Amartey has come in and done a job but make no bones about it he's no RB. Again Dragovic has come in and done a job, would I rely on him permanently? Probably not. Fuchs doesn't have long left, Fine we have Chilwell, although I personally prefer him abit more advanced. The same can be said for Morgan (Who's been resurrected this season - In good form, reborn when you look at last season) but he's getting on, Huth is finished imo. So we still need a RB and we still need atleast one maybe two CB's (If Maguire or Dragovic get suspended or injured whilst Morgan is out where do we go) and whilst it's not too much of an issue at this very moment we could probably do with a LB in the summer. I'd like to see an upgrade on Simpson, someone who can move the ball forwards. Happy with Maguire and probably Dragovitch but Huth is probably finished and Morgan can't have much longer. We need a replacement for Shinji in the near future. All of these can probably wait till Summer as the league is so poor but I'd like to see us make 7th and the sooner you get players in the better. Fuchs is only 31. Shinji is also only 31 (9 days younger than Fuchs). Both have got another 2-3 seasons left at least 1

Fuchs has shown signs of decline already and I doubt he is capable of playing at this level for that long. Okazaki on the other hand is getting better and better. 6
Royston. Posted 18 January 2018 Posted 18 January 2018 is puel happy with the squad or just resigned to the fact this is a difficult window to make significant changes?

Way I see it is he will only get better.

Never played it in my life. 2-3 years at least is not a fixed age
Nick Posted 18 January 2018 Posted 18 January 2018 If that’s the case I’m disappointed tbh. If we want to be a top six club the Premiership has evolved and we need to not get left behind. Also in the back of my mind was that adding some real quality might have helped keep people motivated to stay and not jump ship in the summer. It’s a bit ambitionless. 4

If we let 4-5 fringe players go then great but let's get one high quality signing to show ambition to the rest of the squad.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 18 January 2018 Posted 18 January 2018 I can see it being quiet on incomings. Realistically who can we attract that would improve our first 11 at a reasonable price? Unless someone leaves and needs replacing I can't envisage any major purchases.

I think the days of knowing who we'd possibly buy are over - not many times in the last few seasons that I could have predicted a target!

Amartey is a good right back. And he IS a right back. Also, at the moment with Mahrez in front of him, we need a right back to stay and defend, like Simo does. We don't need a player forever over lapping. He has good energy and he's decent at stopping their left side getting crosses in.

Nobody is actually totally happy with the squad, we must always be looking to improve. We're clearly lacking quality in certain areas - there's question marks about every one of our defenders and our striking options from the bench are horrendous. Getting shut of a few players is probably the priority in this window. And not really because we need the money or 'room', just purely because I'm fed up of seeing their names in the squad and hearing about them and they don't deserve to be here. Just going to pop in the Depression thread and slit my wrists.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 19 January 2018 Posted 19 January 2018 Evans’s preference is for City, but Leicester have also made an inquiry for the centre half. They want to make five new signings, including Bouna Sarr, the Marseilles full back, in the next two transfer windows. West Brom are asking for about £23 million for Evans, but could drop their price by £5 million because they are believed to be desperate to sell. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/leicester-rival-manchester-city-in-battle-for-jonny-evans-qj5fjb03p
SheppyFox Posted 19 January 2018 Posted 19 January 2018 I’m ok with that aslong as he goes gung ho on the summer window.

Have to Agree Fuchs seems in decline and at Fullback it shows the most. OKazaki doesn't rely on pace at all so he could be a back bencher for 2 more seasons easy.
sylofox Posted 19 January 2018 Posted 19 January 2018 Not sure anyone will go. Nothing solid on anyone we want rid of. If clubs really wanted Slim Musa or Ulloa why have they not made a solid bid for them. 2/3rds of the window gone and nothing.
Lambert09 Posted 19 January 2018 Posted 19 January 2018 Im Just terrified of two mega deals for Riyad and Vardy arriving on deadline day. I think I’d have to take a break from football

I think I’d have to take a break from football Deadline day deals are the easiest ones to handle if you don’t want to sell. There’s no ongoing talks and it’s just a rejected bid. Assuming you have someone competent in charge of the proceedings. It’s harder when someone’s head has been turned earlier on in the window and it becomes a real issue. You then have the prospect of an unhappy player but again, if these players really do want a big move they have to perform until the summer.
Sir Shep Posted 25 January 2018 Posted 25 January 2018 Well this has been a quiet window, one in, but I’m not complaining. I expect to see a striker leave and that’s about it. 1
LFEFox23 Posted 25 January 2018 Posted 25 January 2018 Its always nice to see new signings as its exciting! but realistically we dont NEED to strenghten til the summer, Amartey has proven adequet cover for RB so we can deal with that issue then. Id be happy to see Musa,Ulloa,Slim,Benny,King all leave. Lets not forget weve got Mendy and Katpuska to come back in the summer aswell 1
AylestoneRaider Posted 27 January 2018 Posted 27 January 2018 Keep the players we have. Best squad I’ve seen at City, Puel is promising as well. Good team, good squad and wealthy owners....... but we are Leicester, surely we’ll find a way to make an a*se of it! 2
TheLittleBigMan Posted 29 January 2018 Posted 29 January 2018 Don't mind if it's a quiet window provided we've put the ground work in for deals in the off season. The money the top clubs have spent since we won the title is obscene and we need make sure we are well and truly on the ball with our transfers. These windows are only going to get tougher.
