I love the Rutland Arms, borderline essential gaff but the "music banned from the jukebox" shit is tryhard bollocks.

Smacks of "We're not showing the Wendyball" during major tournaments.

I've nearly finished "Diary of a Publican" by the owner of the Blue Boar, which I've really enjoyed. Got some great bits of local history in there, insights into the pub/beer trade, and is genuinely funny. Essential reading for a lot of people who post in here and the Pints thread!

Read it at the end of 2021. Easy to understand the struggles of a 21st century public an, even without Covid! Also fun knowing who a lot of the people are!

Just had a pint in the Hind and the place was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. Has anyone had the African food from there?

the lager was shocking last time i went in there, no idea they needed to pull a few pints off first

Went there a few months ago, just found it very stale. Seating was an absolute pain upstairs, but did reality like the downstairs bit.

seating sound like their Lutterworth one, quirky to say the least

Ha! That's what I get for not reading Gen Chat anymore.

What a thing to go viral for.

You're missing more sensible debates on this side, compared to the actual LCFC threads..

Cracking read. Good friend of the author, knows how to run a pub that boy. Hes got the Alestone pub at the minute.

Early start for us in a few Whitwick pubs before we head into the city. Probably end up down Millstone Lane.

Where you going in Whitwick

Yo

Where is decent for a beer near Brum town hall?

Post office vaults?

The whole area is going to be swimming with Christmas market zombies

Take your pick from Vaults, Purebar, or the Colmore. Even the Wellington isn’t that far

Not in Leicester, but Leics, the Dog and Gun in Kilby has reopened under new management. Hopefully they can bring it back to how it used to be, went downhill under last landlord.

Any city centre pubs recommended for a few pints while watching the results come in between 3 and 5 today?

Probably Kings Head if you want the results and some decent beer.
