I hate it.

I'm ok hug to my kid, I don't feel too uncomfortable hugging the missus, but the thought of hugging even close friends gives me the creeps. And I'd rather cut my bollox off with a blunt penknife than hug a stranger. Am I the only one with these feelings?

Totally the opposite.

Often hug my Mum and Dad, hug the other half almost every day and hug my friends almost every time I see them.

I love human contact, I shake hands with almost everyone I meet.

Sooner hug than shake hands you never know if they just been for a piss or picked up someone else's piss from a contaminated door knob or have just wipe the cold infected snot off their nose.

I speak from experience having a very active nose snot wise.

Call me paranoid if you want

PS I like hugging trees.

for me a hug is the pinnacle of me liking you. hugging strangers is a big "no no" for me. i hate it when others hug you without a warning because they catch you off guard, i make sure that people know before i hug them.

does that make you feel like a kid again without a worry in the world? because people try to recreate their happy memories subconsciously.

I'm a big hugger I must be honest.

I wouldn't hug a stranger but after a few encounters and once we've built a bit of trust and rapport then it's hugs all the way.

I hug clients I've known for ages, my work associates, friends, family, anyone who's up for a hug.

Hug my wife and kids loads and my Mum and Sister (Dad not so much as he's a bit old fashioned/alpha)

Hugging is good for you. It releases happy hormones and makes people feel loved and wanted.

Here's a bit FT hug to all of you out there..

No I just think they deserve it and feel it plus we wouldn't exist without them.

i'm a long time past feeling like a kid again well not until dementia sets in.

i find hugging strangers is a good ice breaker and also gives you a tiny insight into whether they are down to earth or uptight (depending on their reaction).

i should add, not random strangers but strangers ive been introduced to:sweating:

Thing is, Izzy, it doesn't with me - quite the opposite in fact. It releases stress hormones and makes me feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable. I really hate people invading my personal space in that way.

Na, I just don’t like people really.

Yeah, me neither, but that's not the issue. I mean, could you (do you?) force yourself to grin and bear it if necessary? If someone tried to hug me I would physically prevent them, despite how rude that might seem.

I often hug the people next to me when we score, even if I don't know them.

Never occurred to me it could effect someone this much, sorry if I've done it I suppose.

I wouldn’t go that far with family, because my wife would kill me but yeah I’ve pushed people away for coming too close a few times. I’m not even keen on handshakes tbh, I always feel the need to wash my hands soon after.

I suspect I'm very much the odd one out here, Matt, so I wouldn't worry about it.
