Everyone had a hissy fit that the first team wasn't played in the FA cup. I'm half wanting to see some of the second team here...

This is one of our biggest matches this year for sure. If we lose it we'll almost definitely be eighth with Everton gaining on us.

Schmeichel

Amartey, Dragovic, Maguire, Chilwell

Mahrez, James, Ndidi, Albrighton

Okazaki

Vardy

Diabate for Shinji at 60mins

Going by today's selections I think you are right.

Think their danger man will be Walcott. They seem to rate him very highly (albeit he's only played one game for them)

He gives them some pace which is what they were seriously lacking.

How about, 4-3-3...

Front 6...

Ndidi...Silva...James/Iborra

     Mahrez...Vardy

            Nacho

With Vardy and Nacho interchanging Channels and Central Striker role

It’s veryyyy tempting to bring Simmo back in because he’s quality. But Amartey seems to be improving every game and is growing in confidence. There’s potential to undo the progress he’s made if we bring back Simmo straight away.

The way he handled Richarlison was magnificent and he’ll be up against a similar type of winger in Bolasie, so this is a chance for him to add consistency to his game.

Agreed.  Love Simmo defensively,  understandably looked rusty yesterday. With all the ball players in the team at the moment thought he stood out like  a sore thumb. Does a great job for the team especially to go 90 in his first game back after injury.

1-2 win. We're a better team and I just hope we show it.

We're incomparably better - it's ridiculous that they're so close to us in the table - 200 million spent on a bunch of misfits and a manager who has been consistently   Given jobs beyond his ability

Nice try but everything below Burnley are gash. ?

We looked like relegation fodder early doors and still not too far behind 6th.

Amartey hasn’t put a foot wrong, and his gave Simpson competition, and after how Simpson look today, he will have to wait to get his place back.

Silva for James I would do, silva better footballer and more mobile

Longer term I think you've nailed it, and as much James didn't tear up any trees, no one else has done enough to dislodge him yet imo.

I think puels treatment of fringe players has a lot to do with how well we are doing now.

Same team, but far more excited about the subs coming on now. Not just if we need them. Because we can.

First time at Goodison despite living on The Wirral for the last 4 years. Where is a friendly prematch pub?

Right have had a go at understanding this collection of words, and I think you're saying by calling Everton poor, we're being arrogant.

What you need to remember is that @fuchsntf doesnt simply make a post, so much as publishes his poetry online.

You will note that all of his posts are written in iambic pentameter.

Anyone who thinks this won't be a very tough game is a bit deluded I fear. They have some very good players, are at home, have a cunning old manager and doesn't Walcott have a pretty decent scoring record against us or have I imagined that?

If we get a draw we will have done well. Obviously I'm hoping for 3 points but it will be far from easy.

I have the same recollection - could be a myth though

Really want us to win this game for 2 reasons, firstly to prove we are the strongest side outside the top six and secondly to shut big fat Sams mouth up for always blowing his own trumpet how good a manager he is!!

And a third reason, they were an early premier league version of Sunderland before they finally went down.

Shit. Hovered close for years and logic says they couldn't keep it up forever a la coventry.

Then they get a bit of money, a "sexy football" foreign manager and suddenly their rich tapestry of history pisses all over us winning the premier league this millenium.

(Then they spunked it all up the wall and got big Sam and a well past his prime Rooney as their only "striker" ????????

(Ok, I admit it, my dad did a poss poor job early doors and I actually supported that shit for a while before I understood, and it burns me up so bad I NEED them to do a cov)

Our attacking subs will hopefully be Nacho for Vardy and Diabate for Shinji, preferably with Diabate coming on at 60' and Nacho at 75'

(Just thinking - not likely the reality)

I miss Pearson and the way he picked which substitutes to bring on at 65 minutes, before the match and regardless of what happened on the pitch.

Oh it's no myth. He is just another shit player that always scores against us.

Theo Walcott

Gary Neville (Ok not shit, but not exactly prolific)

Olivier Giroud

Jesse ****ing lingard

Jordan bastard Henderson

Heung min son (good player but regardless how little he plays, always scores against us)

Even Sam bleeding vokes (in what feels like every club he has ever played for)

Now trawling the archives to get this out of my system)

Benteke

Andy Carroll

Even Shane long. This is painful. Fellaini even makes the list

Would agree with that.

Everton have also had a bit more time to prepare for this with no FA Cup so big Sam will surely have something up his sleeve.

We’ll smash em. Don’t know how they’re top half to be honest

Because it's the worst bottom half in the leagues history. It's embarrassing that these and Watford are in the top half. Unbelievable almost. Suppose it'll make for a fascinating relegation battle.

We should be looking to win this. I'm still yet to see us lose at Everton.

Even with Allardyce, they seem vulnerable at the back and lack bite up front.

0-1 Vardy.

Allardyce usually takes a while to really get his team to click. I remember both Sunderland and Palace being shite for a while under him but eventually he got them both in pretty good form. I do think Everton will pick up but not just yet. We're playing them at the right time.
