Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

a site said that mahrez won't get back to training until he gets a new contract with a release clause. the club want a 100 million euros release clause while mahrez's agent wants 80.

Friggin amazing.

He has a contract, but refuses to play.

That’s an interesting development - if he thinks he has been fecked over by the club re the ‘gentleman’s agreement’ then that makes some sense. After all, if he comes back and plays well then we might ask for £110m in the summer. He wants some certainty

Could all be bollux of course !

Seriously Blue, I’m an expert in the field. The Pep of house buying and selling. £10k is the offer. Although I’m willing to chuck in a rabbit and a pigeon with the old toothless cat.

Well if we're getting that serious with the bids Arm, I'm going to throw in an old copy of the Beano a conker that's a 49er and a pickled egg!

Easy, find your middle ground. £90m and everyone's happy.

It's as close to our £95m evaluation of Mahrez as it can be. Still doubt that anyone would come in for him at £80m, but that might change in the summer if transfer fees continue to increase in general.

Multi national businessmen with an annual turnover of £2 billion and 7000 employees don't become that successful by luck and I'm almost certain that in the 30 years since they started King Power not once have they agreed to a "gentleman's agreement" and I doubt the first time would be to a football agent.

It wasn’t the agent, it was the player. It’s been mentioned in plenty of articles by journos who have relations with Riyad’s camp over the past year. We wouldn’t agree to a release clause after being shafted on NG. we told mahrez that after the CL season, we would entertain offers that met our vauation.

Seriously mate I’m out. I’d eat the pickled egg. You want it that bad you have it. Careful with the contract though.

The person i spoke to is a senior figure at the club. If you don't want to believe me then that is your problem

Bernie doesn’t count as a senior figure at the club.

Yes I do. But would you think it fair on people who suffer from depression that a person who hasn’t got depression to claim they have depression when a situation doesn’t suit them.

You clearly don’t, as an interview with a psychiatrist is not part of a signing medical.

You question, phrased as a statement, has nothing to do with anything. It’s irrelevant. If he’s depressed then he’ll be seeing a shrink soon enough - if he’s not then it could simply be a slip of words used by a manager who is communicating in a second language.

Either way, you aren’t qualified to make a diagnosis.

well what ever he has or doesn't have, i have lost patience with the little baby cut the shit heads money off, and then when he returns leave him on the bench to rot.

What I really want to know is? Has the OP apologised for claiming people with morals need to grow up? Common Finnegan or are you still claiming us and the press wrong? I don't doubt his football ability and won't boo him. I do however doubt his integrity.

ARE YOU BIG ENOUGH TO SAY SORRY.

Got offered the opportunity to get a free Premier League medal, play in one of the most highly acclaimed squads in the history of the Premier League for a manager that's somehow made Raheem ****ing Sterling look world class. Imagine what he'd do with Riyad.

Forgive me a bit of shameless rep-point grandstanding but he's helped us get promoted, helped us win the league, helped us get to the quarter finals of the champions league. Just like Drinkwater, he had every right to look to progress his career and do so with our support and gratitude. That's football, folks.

All he did was request a transfer. There's been no downing of tools, no flouncing off, no refusing to play, no kicking up a fuss. He was a consummate pro after the summer, got his head down and got back to his very best.

Nothing to suggest he isn't going to do so again now.

He's probably leaving in the summer and when he does, cest la vie. Until he does, he's one of ours and he's a big part of our push to get back to our European tour. I for one can't wait to see the bright lights of Tallinn, Kharkiv, Warsaw and Tirana in the tin pot cup.

So please, stow the childish bitterness, stop buying in to the pathetic Sky Sports narrative that he's causing disruption in the squad, don't believe the melodrama and just ****ing support him and the rest of the lads.

We didn't refuse to sell him we just weren't offered enough. Man City won't have to worry about him this weekend either it's ****ing shameful. Hopefully this will be inventive enough to players that do play to put one over on them.

A bit cheesed off would have been more apt...but in our click bait society depressed is king!

and what shits me most is they left it to the last minute, given us no hope of a replacement. mybe mahrez should look at drinkwater sitting on the blues bench and not playing. because city will always look to bring in more and more players.

I stick by my statement. I can't even imagine a situation how a conversation about this would arise. It's certainly never been acknowledged by the club.
