Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

You can forget our club keeping the fans in the loop, they are an absolute disgrace at it. This is why we've such disdain for Rudkin and Macia, they haven't got the balls to ever give us anything we can relate to. This is now happening with the other executives running the club, they leave our manager to update us but will brief them never to give anything away. So the animosity and resentment grows. Fcuk them all. We'll win on Saturday anyway.

the fcc got scrapped... just when it was getting interesting... the loyalty scheme misses the pint... the ability of the clubs digital media to engage fans wont work until they allow independent editorial control (so it is like a pub... for even foxestalk; and how to grow young fan based (lots of older st holders) when they can't get  a ticket or even buy a shirt for less then £40

Anyone listening to talksport?

They’re discussing the situation and the opinion seems to be shifting against Mahrez and in favour/defence of the club.

Before I start I know people don’t like talksport, Simon Jordan and recently I’ve gone off Jim White but they’ve just been talking to the dinosaur that is Gordon Taylor from PFA about the situation.

As I said I know quite a few people have a negative opinion of Simon Jordan but he’s speaking a lot of sense and bit Gordon Taylor’s head off! Destroyed him! Very good listen.

If anyone can get a link to it do so, I’ll have a look later if no one else has/if I get chance.

A must listen!

I doubt he’d play on Saturday regardless.

Part of me thinks the club have told him go on holiday or similar.

I heard he has gone to Belize.

As nobody has spoken to the press about this it looks like the club are keeping this in house.

I think you're craving attention.

The person i spoke to is a senior figure at the club. If you don't want to believe me then that is your problem

Another factor to keep in mind, he's probably fallen out of game shape so even if he comes back there's going to be a period where he'll have to get back in condition and then you're open to an increased possibility of injury.  This is bad on so many levels.  It might be time to consider shutting the door and saying F- off Riyad  There's nothing professional about this in his conduct.

Senior figures at the club haven't spoken to the press, why would they talk to you knowing you'll be straight on here?

Okay I'll word it different - maybe not holiday or leave but it wouldn't at all surprise me if the top tier of the club's hierarchy have told him to stay away from the training ground for now.

It's only a suggestion mind. But I am less concerned about Rob Dorsett's daily 'missing training' tweet than I was before the weekend. The footballing opinion is beginning to change about Mahrez's actions and that's going to get him tarnished as 'difficult character'.

It takes the media cycle a day to move from reaction to analysis.  Once the hot take pundits had spewed their initial “thoughts”, a solid majority of media voices have seen Mahrez as causing this no-win situation.  Most have opined he should have continued to honor his contract.   There were a couple pieces in print even before Shaka Hislop came out on ESPN.

Not only did Mahrez and his agent miscalculate hugely by expecting the owners to cave, it seems to me they are taking a loss in media and public opinion (per comments to online pieces).  A split decision, but not even a particularly close one.

Because of the Nature of the beast, they are not going to tell us,what we want to know every mincing

second. This aint a Soap ,or big brother.

They have their own concerns, and needs, until they know where they stand.Totally unfair IMO,to

expect anything before the  Weekend. Speculation will be rife No matter what statement the Club

give Out...

Mahrez can Stop 1st speculation by returning and honouring His contract, then the Club, can Go from

there..

Any resentment,is on the shoulders of impatiant and itchy fans,Not getting to grips with their own

emotions.....In the grand picture of the circle of Life..I aint fking bovvered...!!

Only the club can let me down,in later explanation and  end of expectation

But they owe me nothing..

Are you absolutely sure though that they havent sent him to the Maldives in order to avoid him bringing down Shinji's spirit?

Haha.

I'm not sure whether this is true, but I was told Riyad moved to a new house in Kent in the last week of the window and Slimani has moved into the same area (before Newcastle move). I'd take that with a pinch of salt though as it doesn't really stack up.

Gordon Taylor seems to be advocating going on strike, that'll be great for the overall good of Football....the man's a tw@ and I hope he's not allowed to arbitrate in this instance. The only good thing he said was that he's been in touch with the club offering to help and they've not got back to him....I hope we never do.

I have no idea how on earth Gordon Taylor has been in his job for so long. Good on Simon Jordan for speaking his mind.

In my humble opinion, there is no excuse for what Mahrez is doing, unless he is genuinely mentally ill and needs time off from playing. But if he is just pissed off that he can’t leave City as fast as his legs can carry him, then he can sort himself out, man up and start playing the fookin game.

If he has moved to Kent perhaps Gillingham will come in for him

Understandably the weight of opinion is fast moving against Riyad. Simon Jordan' s no nonsense tirade is exactly right. Good listen...Thanks for posting that

Gordon Taylor gets paid £3.5m quid a year.....who's stealing a living at the moment.....him or Riyad? I'd argue Riyad is doing a better job.

Christ on a bike! 3.5 million quid... yet another example of how modern football has just gone to Hell in a hand cart. It really has.
