Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

Glad Andy has moved on to the Swans ...    those Welsh fan boys did my head in ..   :)

Good luck at your new home Andy...   hope it goes well ...   and thanks for all you’ve done for the club.  Top top bloke.

Got offered the opportunity to get a free Premier League medal, play in one of the most highly acclaimed squads in the history of the Premier League for a manager that's somehow made Raheem ****ing Sterling look world class. Imagine what he'd do with Riyad.

Forgive me a bit of shameless rep-point grandstanding but he's helped us get promoted, helped us win the league, helped us get to the quarter finals of the champions league. Just like Drinkwater, he had every right to look to progress his career and do so with our support and gratitude. That's football, folks.

All he did was request a transfer. There's been no downing of tools, no flouncing off, no refusing to play, no kicking up a fuss. He was a consummate pro after the summer, got his head down and got back to his very best.

Nothing to suggest he isn't going to do so again now.

He's probably leaving in the summer and when he does, cest la vie. Until he does, he's one of ours and he's a big part of our push to get back to our European tour. I for one can't wait to see the bright lights of Tallinn, Kharkiv, Warsaw and Tirana in the tin pot cup.

So please, stow the childish bitterness, stop buying in to the pathetic Sky Sports narrative that he's causing disruption in the squad, don't believe the melodrama and just ****ing support him and the rest of the lads.

OK, I've waited. Now what ? Is there a limit on the waiting time ?

At this point he's probably out playing street football with the teenagers of Sarcelles, rediscovering his love for the game - he'll come back, earn his way back into the team for the final 10 matches and finish on a hot streak playing the best football of his career, securing a move to Spain in the summer that meets Leicester's evaluation in the process.

At least, that's how it would go if this were some sort of movie. Which I'm not totally convinced it isn't.

Just spoke to somebody at the club. He didn't turn up for training today and nobody knows where he is. He is a silly lad, the club are not going to be blackmailed by him. He risks ending his career at 26

I just spoke to somebody at the club he says some wannabe called brisfox is lieing to me.

Who to believe?

Anyone listening to talksport?

They’re discussing the situation and the opinion seems to be shifting against Mahrez and in favour/defence of the club.

Before I start I know people don’t like talksport, Simon Jordan and recently I’ve gone off Jim White but they’ve just been talking to the dinosaur that is Gordon Taylor from PFA about the situation.

As I said I know quite a few people have a negative opinion of Simon Jordan but he’s speaking a lot of sense and bit Gordon Taylor’s head off! Destroyed him! Very good listen.

If anyone can get a link to it do so, I’ll have a look later if no one else has/if I get chance.

Still can’t work out why the richest club on earth wouldn’t pay the asking price. They’re hardly a principled club are they.

They aren't actually that big on spending huge amount on one player, despite popular belief,  30-40 Million no problem but they are yet to enter the new psychotic 75 million pound + world like Man U Real Barce etc, let us not forger their final bid would of been their transfer record.

You wouldn't want Gordon Taylor representing you would you.

I'd like to know how he'd pass a medical if he's got depression

I don't think you understand what happens during a medical or what depression is.

Yes I do. But would you think it fair on people who suffer from depression that a person who hasn’t got depression to claim they have depression when a situation doesn’t suit them.

Seeing as the OP is suggesting some should ‘grow up’ and wait until Mahrez is back on the pitch..well does the OP know when this might be? Does anyone?

Are we expecting Riyad back this weekend?

Reports state he's still not reporting to training so I assume not... I expect Diabate to come in again against City. Watch him play a blinder and Man City put a bid in for him in the summer instead ?

I doubt he’d play on Saturday regardless.

Part of me thinks the club have told him go on holiday or similar.

How very dare you post a reasonable comment.

People have the hammer and nails ready and have very right to jump to conclusions.

I dont think he's been told to go on holiday. I think he is more or less on strike or something similar and the club is just being diplomatic about it

Of course somebody knows.

Not you, but several people know.

It would seem most unlikely that a player who hasn't turned up to training or matches has been told to go on holiday and if he had it certainly wouldn't have been a literal meaning - check with HPF.
