Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

To be fair, we are still waiting to see how he reacts on the pitch.

Why would that matter now. He's shown what he thinks of the club and the fans now. He will only be playing for his move not for us.

What would the reaction be if he started the game on Saturday and played a blinder?

Would the current 'disgust' of him be swept under the carpet if this does happen?

Yep ?

A chance to listen to Simon Jordan speaking to PFA Chief Gordon Taylor, the man trying to broker a solution to the Mahrez situation.

Gordan Taylor sounds like a moron in this debate. - EDIT: both of them towards the end sound like morons.

I'm getting tired of this and I think Mahrez's attitude stinks.

Most of us would back Mahrez as soon as he's back on the pitch doing the business. It's getting the beggar near the grass that's the bloody problem lol.

Gordon Taylor's an absolute dinosaur. Tell me what good he's doing for the game? Simon Jordan is spot on and makes him look an idiot, granted it isn't that hard.

I had just about forgiven him for his summer antics. But this really is taking the piss. If it was not for the money and damage he could cause the squad I'd say let him rot. But we need to get as much as we can and FVCK him off. Do a deal now and let the cvnt go train with his new club.

I know my moral limitations, and as pi**ed off as I am right now, I know I'll chant his name the moment he skins two defenders and curls one in top bins lol.

Listened to the Simon Jordan, Gordon Taylor tete a tete yesterday.

Taylor is useless but thought Jordan came across terribly as well. Used the Mahrez debate as a means to get his own previous grievances across.

i cannot believe he would be carrying on like this if he didn’t feel he has been wronged. Perhaps this is down to his agents feeding him incorrect information, and raising his expectations; perhaps it’s down to us moving the goalposts on verbal assurances. Whatever the reasons we are where we are. The best way forward from here is to insert a release clause (£75m+)  into his existing contract and then he has to play well over the remainder of the season to convince clubs that he is worth that fee.

His transfer request stays on the table so that he doesn’t get a loyalty bonus on sale - that would be too ironic !

Am I right in saying only 2 bids for Mahrez have gone public? Man City and Roma? Do we even think there were more?

I think the hype/ his agent's words have gone to his head. I think he expects Barca to come in with a swap deal for Messi and Suarez.

This would work very well for us because so far nobody has wanted to pay that much for him, so he would need to play very well to get out of the club

A reason why he might not want to do that is that he will be worried that a release clause of 75 mill plus will potentially keep him at the club

I have a feeling he will be angling for a lower release clause if so.  But lower than 75 mill is probably not good business for the club

He obviously does feel he has been' wronged', let down whatever but the fact is only one club has shown any interest which comes anywhere near the clubs valuation and that interest was shown on the final day of transfer business, by a club who can afford to pay 65+ million to 'fix' a short term absence of Sane and possibly Gabriel Jesus. The fact Pep has now publicly stated he no longer wants Mahrez speaks volumes really cause by the Summer when rat boy will be available his absentees will be back fully fit.

The only one who needs to do some growing up is Mahrez himself. It's becoming a farce and by acting like this he's pissing on his legacy. I wish it mattered to him but it seems it just doesn't, he's practically sleeping on his travel cases since the summer, ready to move in an instant whenever a big club makes a transfer call.

I'm losing my respect for him quickly but I still hope he will reach an agreement with the club. Even if most bridges were burnt there's still one bridge of major importance left to fight for, Leicester's bridge to Europe. Whether we still have warm feelings towards Mahrez or not, we should make the best out of him and I'd expect him to play out of his skin. In fact he should be told, you have to play for your ticket out and for our ticket to Europe son, grow a pair or keep rotting away, but with your wages suspended.

And he should be fined for every game he skips. A player going awol without any consequences sets a dangerous precedence and it's a terrible example for all the kids and upcoming talents as well. There were too many Payets Sanchezs Dembeles and Aubameyangs already throwing their toys out of the pram it's a shame Riyad's decided to join this exclusive. club. It's not like these guys are slaves on sugar plantation in the Carribbean getting paid with a whip ffs

Does he drive one of the new Range Rovers (black, with the top end design of the back looking squashed)?

Looked across to see who it was at traffic lights near to the Highcross and it looked like him (Algerian descent-looking and turning his face away from me).

He changed his agent to one of the the biggest shit bags ball in football, the man behind wankers going on strike like Coutinho and Suarez.

This probably says more about this whole situation. We only seem to have had 2 bids. Maybe clubs have asked but dont fancy the price.

What I do feel this says though is football don't think he's anywhere near as good as we do and him and his agent think he is.

Let's be honest if Barca really thought he was that good he would be gone by now. Juve Real and none of our big clubs have made a serious offer. Neither offer we have had has even been close to our valuation.
