If Mahrez plays and scores about 40 millions Algerian heads will explode with confusion as to how to react.

I’d expect Man City to beat us with our back four plus 6 Riyad Mahrez...

... **** me are there any mods on this forum anymore? Main forum looks an absolute state today!

Why do u need to contact the moderators? I get that you don’t agree with it but why not just ignore it? There’s plenty of other topics. Are you like trying to impress them or something?

Man City would whoop us any way.

Man mark David Silva and maybe De Bruyne and you have a chance. Too many teams are rolling over and letting them do what they want. There are still weaknesses in their defence.

You started a thread saying the greatest collective side to grace the premier league bid for our best player to help their chances of beating us... at their home....

Unless you were being incredibly sarcastic I felt we’d reached peak lunatic for today....

The conspiracy theory does seem far-fetched.

It does beg the question, though - if Man City genuinely wanted Mahrez, why did they give themselves the smallest possibility of achieving that by (a) leaving it till the last minute (b) not being prepared to offer anywhere enough to secure a deal and (c) not even making an official bid? All seems very odd.

Muzzy Izzet's take on why O'Neil's team was so successful was that they showed no respect for the opposition, just got stuck in and pressed them all over the pitch, played with confidence, concentrated on their own game and let the opposition worry about them.

Times may have changed but, for me, that philosophy still holds true, especially for clubs such as ours who don't have as many classy players as the top teams. Our team has to perform better than the sum of its parts.

I think most teams playing Man C have a mindset that they've lost before they've even taken the field.

Forgot to add - one of the few exceptions to "not worrying about the opposition threats" was when O'Neil got Kamark to stick like glue to Juninho in the League Cup final. Worked a treat. Who would we put on De Bruyne?

If only we still had Wasyl... imagine de Bruyne trying to pull the strings while flying face first into row Z.
