This thread has the potential to go tits up....so to speak, but it’s a serious question. 

Has anyone ever been involved with one of these, either a one off, or lives/lived the lifestyle?

I’m not sure I ever could, because firstly my name wouldn’t go down too well with any club’s marketing department, and also I think there would be just too much going on.  A bit like looking at an Indian/Chinese menu for ages and eventually then just choosing what you always have every week anyway.

I know someone who has dipped his toe....again so to speak, in this way of life but he said “It’s not just about sex, if that’s what you are looking for you are in the wrong place, you should just pay for an escort instead.” 

So what is it about these places? Another place where you feel wanted and belong, or something weirder?

Tbf it's an interesting question, why do people swing?  For me it's all about seeing how far you can project yourself off it.  We've all heard the tales about that one kid who managed to loop over the crossbar but I reckon that's a load of bollocks.

I knew a guy growing up who was literally charisma bankrupt and really bad with women he was a stereotypical IT nerd who hadn’t ever got laid. He moved to London and in his late twenties met a woman in a bar and ended up at one of these places with zero confidence and was told he could just watch. ( it apparently developed from there without the need for him to to have sex with others apart from the woman he went with) I haven’t seen him in a few years but last time I did he was in a relationship and loving life. All I’ll say is that whilst it’s not for me (and I know some couples who indulge) that it potentially is a pastime for people to re-engage in sex who maybe have never had it and find some confidence. It’s a bit weird but hey ho......

I know there's one in Lutterworth, and I know the key swapping thing really did used to go on in the Caravan Club years ago, but that's as far as my knowledge on the subject goes
