I've always been rubbish at heavy drinking. 3 pints and I'm anybody's. lol

The worst thing is rounds, followed by men's men looking at me like I'm from Mars when I refuse a pint. I'm trying not to mention Ireland again, but my cousins think a night out isn't a night out without pissing pure alchohol by the end of the evening.

Wine before beer makes you feel queer.  Pretty sure there's an alternative rhyme with "grape" and "grain" in lieu of the wine/beer but I can't remember how that one goes.

Spliff after red wine you'll bee too far inside a pool of bodily fluids to care that this doesn't really rhyme.

Grape or grain, but never the twain.

Apparently it’s all an urban myth anyway.

Yeah I can believe that, I've mixed alcohols in different orders many times without any discernible difference to the end result.  100% makes a difference if you smoke weed before or after a beverage though.

Absolutely, they are completely different drugs. Which takes me back to my original point that I don’t get why anyone would spoil the high by boozing.

Because you don't want a night of drinking and socialising to ruin getting stoned I guess lol

Presumably it was in the foyer? What an odd thing to have in a Theatre.

I suppose anything to pay some bills, better than the council paying to keep it empty.

Milans were serving food in the foyer

The longest bar you ever saw was across stage and off into the wings...

it was odd as plenty of folk were sat in the chairs...  I had an auidience watching me drink beer ?!

Drunken stereotype they can live with, I've been told (don't quote me on it, obvs ;)). A bit like with the Scots, too much truth for them to deny it really.

The Scots have a good reason for it though being producers of high quality tipple.

Last pint: Fuller's Golden Pride in the Doric Arch, Euston, yesterday. Should probably have looked properly at the pump clip before ordering as it turned out to be an 8.5 percenter. Had already had a few beforehand so felt a bit dozy on the train home.

Best: Aside from any Fiege Pils in Bochum, Guinness in Dublin or Ožujsko in Dubrovnik, I had a pint of Pilsner Urquell in Bratislava last year that really hit the spot. I've had it in Prague before and buy bottles of it here sometimes, but that one sticks in my head for some reason. Also had a really tasty rhubarb ale in the Blue Boar a few months back, but can't recall it's name.

I really like a Pilsener Urquell too, Ship & Mitre before Liverpool was a top boozer.

Last pint out was a Stella, which I almost never drink, in a Cafe Rouge in a Centreparcs so probably was about seven quid. I've since had a bottle of Abbot Ale at home.

My best pint would probably have been a pint of Bluebird at the Black Bull in Coniston - the brewery's on the same site

This stuff is top class.

Had a really delicious stout in The Salmon yesterday - Creme Bearlee from the Beartown Brewery. Also had a pint of Black Swan coffee stout in there, which was very tasty too.

Great pub, was brilliant to see how packed it was on a Sunday lunchtime.

That probably had something to do with a game of football being on..

Anyone a fan of the USA IPA's? Just recently developed a taste for them after thinking they were disgusting for so long.

I tend to steer clear of them but love most IPAs. They tend to have a really hoppy bitter after taste.

Big fan of the Citra Oakham ales.

I had a really nice ale at Johns place in mountsorrel last week. It had their own label on it but it was from the Langtons brewery near Market Harborough. I’m trying to source myself some, as I can’t afford to go back every time I fancy a great beer.
