Ronaldo has a head start on the golden boot after what should have been his most difficult group game. When he has an opportunity like this, I'd be surprised if he didn't add that to his collection. Given that 6 or 7 goals often puts you in the mix, I expect him to be determined to collect 4 goals from the next two games. I certainly wouldn't bet against it. In reality, I'd rather they lost the next two games and went out but I don't see it happening.

Yeah you’ve got no chance with that. ?

Three on the board already with Two gimmes in the groups  and at least a very winnable last 16 game I imagine he’s smelt blood here and will have a go at the record number of goals at a finals

Pretty much what I alluded to in my post.

I imagine as I've transferred him into my dream team Ronaldo will have a stinker tomorrow. Won't get as much space as he did against Spain but surely he ends up on 5 maybe 6 before the knockout rounds.

Well you were talking golden boot the ridiculous amount he would need for an all time record is a different story, attainable though if he gets his foot down.

I was talking about the golden boot but I also said I'd expect him to aim for at least 7 after the group stage closes. I didn't expect him to stop there. I don't see him challenging Fontaine's record personally but, I guess if anyone might, it's likely to be him. When I said I'd rather they lost the next two games and exited the tournament I wasn't predicting that as the likely outcome tbh.

Huge ask. Needs 11 in at most 6 games

10 to level which I’m sure would do him. I don’t think he’s got a chance realistically unless he scores five in the next two but kind of bloke he is I imagine it’s something he’s thought about.

their in a GD race with Spain anyway though if they care about winning the group, which they might not. Realistically an on form Ronaldo could get five goals from these two games, I think the claims Morocco are going to shut up shop are a little ill thought out as well, If  their not resigned to making up the numbers they need to have a go tomorrow.

Their best chance would definitely be to give Portugal the ball and hit them on the counter. Playing expansive football against Ronaldo and Co is rather suicidal, as evidenced by Spain.

You have to commit men forward at some point though that’s the point I was making. Which will leave gaps, they cannot play for a draw.

Maybe they are happy to just look for the occasional counter for 80 minutes or until they fall behind.

It wouldn't be the first or last time that an underdog has prioritised keeping it tight over trying to create chances, even when a win is necessary.

Surely, irrespective of the situation, their best chance of winning is to be as solid as possible, and try and nick a goal if they can, set pieces, a counter, anything.

Probably more likely to lose just by opening up
