Female commentators don't bother me in the slightest but this one sounds like someone doing an impression of either a commentator or like a QVC presenter

Vicki Sparks is infinitely better than Robyn Cowan. She's excellent on the radio and worked really well with Terry Butcher yesterday on 5Live, I just find her pauses stunt any momentum in exciting moments.

 

The biggest issue with commentating at this world cup should be Steve Wilson at the BBC and Jon Champion/Ally McCoist at ITV not being their channels number one.

Guedes was shocking last game, and Silva has scored majority of the goals in qualifying. I thought he would come in.

that classic '6 and 1 and half a dozen' kind of thing. they both have a handful of each other's shirts.

 

Morocco done well here since going down. For a while they had a lot of success down that right flank. Not that much quality to make it count.

 

Portugal have been terrible, especially with their passing. William Carvalho doesn't look bothered.

I don't like Steve Wilson but I agree about the itv pair, loved their commentary on the handful they've done so far. McCoist gives me proper FIFA04 nostalgia, he can't half butcher some names but he talks alot of sense.

 

Martin Keown's loud inhale and "final furds" are a bit shit in comparison

totally agree. McCoist has been one of the best.

 

Glad I'm not the only one that hears Keown breathing heavily in to the microphone after he's finished a sentence.

People will seriously sit through Jonathan Pearce and Clive Tyldesley without batting an eyelid but the toys are out the pram if the commentator lacks a Y chromosome.
