Is that where you and Webbo first met?

He turned me. When he first took me in there I was an innocent young lad.

I used to love to pub atmosphere but as I've got older I'm much more intolerant of people talking shit while I'm trying to watch the game. And WTF is chucking pints of lager all over the place when we score all about?

Nah, it's at home with my kids and a few beers for me.

I was in a pub last night and someone had a glass of champagne. When we won I tried to take it out of their hand and throw over everyone, so middle class.

Is that website alright? I tried to read the article but it was saying I had to watch some video to grant me permission? No time for that thank you, shame as I wanted to read it.

I have no problem with the link

Posted something similar in the match thread but here seems better...

any places similar to dmu now thats not available?

That’s the type of thing I’m looking for as I’m always seeing videos of fans celebrating infront of large screens strange how we don’t have one.

I’ve watched all our games in a pub so far, besides the pint hurling (yesterday in the Hillsborough spoons lads were lobbing pints just for the sake of it, not even confined to goals anymore) and 10 German bombers being sung I’ve loved it. I didn’t watch any Euros games in town so this is the first time I’ve watched a tournament pissed up and it’s been unreal. Probably helps Sheffield is a better city to booze in than Leicester though.

They used to do it in the city centre on that big screen near Primark but they binned it off a few years ago because of security costs and similar loutish behaviour.

Where in Sheffield you living?

Family friendly pubs eh!

As has been mentioned the beer chucking & exhuberent behaviour shown in many pubs during England games is somewhat to be expected & (some) pubs are not really places to take your kids/Grandkids. The sad thing is that most of the morons I have witnessed during the world cup have no idea whatsoever about the game of football & bravadoed up on Stella think it's OK to act like absolute twats.

Modern football louts are rubbish!

I was living in Kelham Island but I live in the centre now. KI has some fantastic pubs

Oh yes.

The Wellington (Shalesmoor rather than Kelham I suppose) is probably my favourite.

I’ve been to 40+ pubs here since September, even the chains are decent enough.

Great pub. The Red Deer, the Rutland, KI Tavern and the Fat Cat were my favourites when I was at Uni there. The Tavern in particular is just perfect in every way. We used to go Devonshire Cat a lot too but it seems to have been ruined.

Hmm what about the Harborough. I quite like it in there now?

I do go to the pub to watch Leicester away games when they're on Sky.

Used to go to the Cutting Room a lot, which is OK if it's not too busy and not too full of scallies. Go to the Welby if I can't be arsed to walk into town. Sometimes go to Harboro - I find the position of their screens a bit awkward though, depending on how busy it is.

Also a nightmare if we're playing someone like Man Utd or Liverpool, because you get all the Melton Mowbray 'scousers' and 'Mancs' coming out the woodwork and doing their best to prove some kind of weird point.

Im sure i read on facebook earlier that the Welby got a bit smashed up / Tvs broke after the England game. Dont know how true that is and tbh wouldnt be seen dead in there.

Wouldn't surprise me - it is full of cretinous inbreds.

I have no pride. When i go there i stand at the bar with a direct view of the screen. Serves a purpose only!
