Are these players going to get 90 mins today? Quite concerning some havent had a full game in preseason. Before Ranieri they always had 90 mins or 2.

Looking great going forward, not so great when we're on the back foot.

Out of all the wingers we were linked with I thought Pepe was the one we should be in for, that first half backed up my opinion.

That was a half of two halves! Really slow and lethargic in the first 25 minutes, but actually quite good in the second 25.

The most encouraging thing is that our best players today have been our youngsters. Nacho, Maddison, Chilwell, Ricardo and Ndidi have been very good and if anything the poor players have been Albrighton, Morgan and Iborra. In other words it's more the "new generation" that are driving us as a team and not the old guard. Probably not that much of a surprise but it's worth noting. When we press high, win it back and play one touch we look like a good team. Ndidi's short passing today has been a lot better already than last season, though his long passing is still horrible. Maddison is the new Mahrez - everything we create is coming through him. Nacho looks incredible his all round game is insane and it will be interesting to see if Puel can find a way to play him, Vardy and Maddision together. On current form he should be first name on the team sheet.

Also Kasper looks like he's back to his 2016/17 self. Imperious at the back!

Decent game and another good watch!

Impressed by Iheanacho (workhorse, goalscorer), Maddison (wonderful playmaker in the middle), Albrighton (found better into the first half as time progressed, lovely cross into the box), Chilwell (doing well on the left, highly active, connecting well with Albrighton), Ricardo Pereira (as a winger), Schmeichel (great saves in the beginning9 and Amartey.

Iborra, Morgan and Benalouane... All more or less meh.

Change Iborra for Hamza and we may be able to protect Benny and Morgan.

I've always been nervous with Amartey on the ball. But Amartey has looked decent of late. I'd be happy to see him start against united.

Hamza isn't on the bench. I'd swap him for Silva

If Mahrez had run through the opposition and had a decent shot like Chilwell in the 9th minute people would have been creaming themselves.

Maddison looks like the most creative player we've had ib a long time.

Amartey and Fuchs/Elder against stronger opposition. Pereira/Chilwell against parked buses?

I think Iheanacho's season was wrecked by the injury in pre season, he's going into this season with minutes, confidence and goals. I reckon he'll hit the ground running and be a different player this season.

His performance in that half is that of a 20 goal a season man. Almost faultless!

And we've got a genuine 20 goal a season man in front of him! Nice problem to have :)

I'd put money on us conceding 2 goals against Yanited in the opening 15 minutes!

I doubt our current defence is that tight:ph34r:

What are the odds on Maddison being the most fouled player in the Premier League this season?

My Norwich supporting friends said he was one of the most fouled in the championship. Also said he loves winding up opposition fans. Him and Vardy should get on well lol

Regarding our defence, yes it has been awful (that was a truly terrible mistake by Morgan) but our first choice pairing is likely going to me Evans and Maguire and neither are playing. So sure we know our backup is poor, but at least for the majority of the season we should be OK.

Not the type of defence you want away at Old Trafford but that type of game is a "free swing." You never expect to get anything out of that game, and anything you do is a nice bonus.

All that said, we could have brought Dragovic after his loan deal ended as an option. He was very solid.

Is there any way we can get Nacho, Vardy and Maddison into the same team? Or would it sacrifice our width?

if we played 3 at the back...;)

Vardy hugs the left wing a lot so maybe he could play as a pseudo winger / forward. It doesn't stop his threat on the break, though does stop his threat in open play.

I expect we will see it tried at some point this season.
