lcfc matt Posted 22 March 2019 Share Posted 22 March 2019 I spoke to the head grounds man yesterday he said there wasn’t much progress being made at all.he said they were only at the stage of ripping out the remaining fixtures and furnishings and getting the ground level ready for work to start.he said it would be 2 to 3 years before they are ready to move so where the information cane from regarding pitch being laid in not sure.i think we are going to be hearing all sorts of rumours the next few months but from what I gather it’s all going to be kept quiet unless they want us to know certain bits.but he denied the current training ground had been sold for housing development and also the tigers having it.plus apparently neither are Leicester ladies having it so god knows what’s happening but there’s so many stories flying round at the moment I’m unsure of what to believe anymore. That fits with the construction plan which states actual construction of anything isn’t scheduled to start until April 7th https://pap.charnwood.gov.uk/AnitePublicDocs/01004133.pdf

Saxondale Posted 22 March 2019 Share Posted 22 March 2019 There is a shedload of earthworks to be done first to get the rough levels right, then site-wide drainage will go in, followed by the roads and then foundations for the building and ancilliary civils works. I imagine the pitches will be the very last thing to be done - logically you'd get all the building works out the way first.
lcfc matt Posted 22 March 2019 Share Posted 22 March 2019 Exactly that was my line of thought that the pitches would be the last job to be done.as I say I was told the work would take atleast 2 to 3 years minimum.

dyanmark Posted 22 March 2019 Share Posted 22 March 2019 Matt theres no way Belvoir drive is on any floodplain .If it was we would all be under water.like that old Mel Gibson film. I'm not sure LCFC are the complete freeholders at Belvoir drive but it will end up as housing no doubt.Seagrave is a substantial job and to be ready in 2 years is probably realistic.
