Time for Puel to go

Yes it is, because this opinion is due to the fact that you expect something from a football club and you think it has to give it to you.

What bizarre logic. By your definition, anybody who goes to a game wanting the team to play well and win is under the grip of a misplaced sense of 'entitlement'. Do you go to games thinking "it would be nice if the team played well today and got three points, but I won't complain if they're abysmal and lose 5-0 because I'm not entitled to any better'. Do you have any understanding at all about what being a fan means?

There is a large gap between "being unhappy" and "wanting people to get fired even if things could get worse it they are".

I'm not happy with the team right now, I would want to us to play like Manchester City and win every week, but it's NOT ****ING POSSIBLE, whoever is in charge.

Taking the risk to appoint a really bad manager just for the chance to be ranked 7th instead of 12th (that's a 3 points gap right now...) or have abit more fun during the games is incredibly stupid because we couldn't hire Guardiola or Klopp but have a real chance to appoint a Pellegrino who will get us relegated.

What we might win doesn't justify the risk it would be, by far.

Do what you’ve got to do but do try and get out more also!

Ha ha don't you love it when you hang someone by their own posts and all you get is "get out more". It took about 3 minutes to look back, time I get paid for I should add.

Yeah it’s great best feeling in the world it’s completely euphoric ? it’s almost as good as watching Puel ball, you wanna work a bit harder then!

I'm firmly in the "Puel in" camp unless we are in danger of relegation, and no, he's not.
Still, he's way closer to getting the best than getting the worst out of this team.

No more reps left, but this is spot on

If you watch the highlights on LCFC of the Palace game (of course they wil be flattering highlights) you can see that we dont play awful football, its just a click or two away from having that cutting edge, maybe a couple of signings off it

Dismissing managers is never without risk, but that doesn't mean it's never justified. Of course things could get worse if we sacked Puel, but they also could get better. It's a valid and perfectly sensible debate, and both sides have a right to their opinion. I just find it very odd that you describe people who think the club would be best served by getting rid of Puel as being 'entitled'. It's such a bizarre word to use. By your definition, anybody who ever aspires for something to improve is 'entitled'. Weird.

People are also moaning that the results are 'predictable'

In that case we can predict that we will be mid-table, as that seems to be the boring old way we are going along

So sacking the manager means we will have an unpredicable set of results

Which means either better than mid table (unlikely)

Or flirting with relegation (less unlikely)

When we are there or thereabouts where we should be, wanting to sack the manager does smack a bit of entitlement

I think it isn't justified at all when the reasons are :
- The team performs slighty below what was expected (we're only 3 points below 7th)
- Some fans are "bored". (Jeez, go watch all the games of any midtable team around the world and come back to tell me how their football is constantly exciting...)

Really!?

The performances have been horrible!... What have you been watching to make you think he's even close to getting the best from the players?

IDK, for instance two of our youngsters were called to England NT after 1 year with Puel even if half the forum called them "shit" last year.
Or Mendy being one of our best players under Puel.
Or Morgan looking like a Premier League player again.

I genuinely wonder whether this is it for the likes of Gray for instance? Whether this is all we’ll ever see from him?

A bit of pace and trickery but frankly, not much else....

I expected Gray to come on leaps and bounds under Puel actually. But very few players have done

well that could be part of the problem because he reckons there won’t be any.

Been said a million times, why would he divulge?

And do you think there is any manager in the world that doesnt want to add quality to his team?

Do you really think Puel wouldnt mind one or two more creative players in his squad?  Really think he's absolutely satisfied with everything?

It boggles the mind

actually im not so sure he would.

he’d probably want another Defensive midfielder in our squad in case something happens to mendy or N’didi... besides he’s got a very good creative influence in silva and we can see what he think of him- he’s absolutely ruined him.

and no, he’s not a crap player as you don’t get to play well for portugal and be a bad player.

you are absolutely delusional if you honestly think that.

More tackles, more aerial won, more passes completed than last season...

We must be the only midtable club in the world where most fans want to sack their manager because we are ranked midtable midseason.

What about the fans at Puel's previous club Southampton?lol

Take you point on Silva, and you'd think he would fit right in with Puel football vision, however I can't remember a time when Silva has played and his been more than a 6/10.

Maybe he's just been unlucky with the 14 secs, and the manager who brought him being sacked or his just someone who can't adapt to PL football.

I would like to see him given a run of game all side one of Ndidi or Mendy, before being discarded.

I'm pretty sure CP would like a Anderson or a Richarlison, however I don't think the club are welling to speed big on fees and wages.

For me, there's a number of points to judge Puel on and it's very much in the balance right now as to whether or not he should stay on.

On Transfers, I'd say he's mostly been a success. We've strengthened in all the areas we've been crying out for since the title win (CB*3, RB, AM, GK) mostly with young players with good potential. Even Ghezzal - who imo gets an unfair rap on here - has put in some decent performances after being bought as a squad player, improving on Diabaté

On Development, several players seem to be coming on strongly where they've previously faltered (Chilwell, Amartey, Mendy), and a few others are growing into their roles here after slow starts (Evans, Pereira, Soyuncu(?)), so I'd put this down as a slight success.

On Results, it's unfortunately edging towards failure. We have been unfortunate with injuries, suspensions etc., but we've still been picking up points and looking reasonably comfortable in mid-table. We should absolutely be pushing on though, and we've had opportunities to get Europa last season and push 6th this, but failed to take any of them. We're still in the cup for now and a win tomorrow may tip the balance in Puel's favour, here.

On Performances, failure. Pretty self-evident, we've been rubbish. Puel clearly has a style in mind but it's just not working with the personnel, and matches are drab affairs as a result. Every now and then it clicks and we see what we could be - and it's brilliant - for about 15 minutes and then its normal service resumed.

Overall, for me it's pretty balanced for and against. I've voted to keep him for the time being after all the events from the past few months, and I'm interested to see what we do in January. HOWEVER, if the right man (or woman, why not?) is available to take over and we can bring them in quickly, I would fully support that decision. I imagine our board are already starting to sound out potential replacements in case they have to pull the trigger.

i hate to say it but exactly the same is happening to us as to what happened  at Southampton. we mocked them for sacking him when they did.  we pointed out the league position was quite good but they said the football played was absolutely awful....

I'm not sure if my post and Geoff Peters/UpTheLeagueFox's tweet quoting the Southampton fan's blog yesterday was overlooked by alot of people or people simply didn't find it interesting.

I'm not trying to make something of it, if people don't think it's interesting or something to be discussed or worried about fair enough but I expected more discussion and debate to be made of it.

The similarities are frightening, it's almost a carbon copy.

Yeah, and they have done nothing  but flirt with relegation since sacking him

Why dont you infer that from those frightening similarities?
