Time for Puel to go

4 more lost games in a short period with quite a few games coming our way over the Christmas period and the bottom few picking up points where we and at this moment can’t afford to drop, I’m not a one for sacking on a whim but yesterday’s performance was diabolical I really would love him to be able to pick his strongest 11 instead of staying faithful to some under performing players whilst we have the likes of Silva Iborra and more not able to get a game.

CP seems to put out the wrong team to wrong formations he can’t please everyone and some say but we’re mid table but why should we be mid table when we have the likes of Wolves Bournemouth Watford and West Ham above us, why can’t we be in 7th place we have a squad capable of being 6th or 7th but it seems CP can’t manage our team to those heady heights?

We all have our moans and our groans about CP and we all will whilst he’s here but the Powers to be seem to trust him so he’s our manager til they say so let’s get behind him !

Onwards and upwards and all that !!?

I don’t think he does with the fan base.

He hasn’t had the support of many throughout.

Ther’s still enough deadwood around for the team not to be operating as a finely oiled machine and as Chilwell proves some players take time to develop. Maddison and Perreira are in their first PL season. Iheanacho is still relatively inexperienced (through I’m not convinced he’ll make the grade)

Fan entitlement and a lack of patience is the problem IMO.

And for others they just can’t stand a boring Frenchman.

He certainly dies have that from a vocal minority.

The example for us to follow knocked us out of the Champions League— unfortunately Puel does not have his side play fast enough for the current Premier League.

He’s not a DOF or a youth coach, he’s a Premier League manager; yes, we can be happy with the development of players like Chilwell and the improvement of Ricardo, but his job is to manage games and get results, which he doesn’t do.

I never said everything is Puel’s fault.

It really isn't. Fans are entitled to want better when they're the ones paying £400+ a season.

Puel would be afforded patience if there were signs of progress.

Well he obviously does but not with the success that many expect now.

It depends whether you take the view as to whether we should be a top 6/8 side now or whether you think he has had a lot to change, is not to a large extent responsible for many of the recruitment or retention problems and should have more time to see if things improve.

We are at different ends of the spectrum and I don’t expect to change the mind of anyone in the “out” camp.

Doesn't really matter who's the manager. While the title winning squad are still getting sweet little contracts and clumping up the squad were gonna be stuck in this limbo

European football may never be a given for us but it’s an attainable goal. We’ve put in some dire performances under Puel and if not for a visiting Watford team that couldn’t walk a ball into the net, this season would look a bit uglier.

We’ve made some poor buys before Puel but he’s also been supported by a large war chest. At the end of the day, he’s paid to manage the club— is he getting anything close to the most out of his players? I’d say he isn’t. Does he even have the proper vision? Many fans are willing to buy into it but just because he has one doesn’t mean it’s the best for this club. Why does Puel get more of a benefit of the doubt than other managers?

Erm we have no war chest...we have a large group of mishits.!! Our midfield is decimated because of 2 investments that have not realised

their pre- transfer potential.   Where is that war chest been shown or revealed to Puel,so he could delve into it!!!

I think there are signs of progress, certainly in recruitment and at times in passages of play.

More than 2 windows are required to bring about the evolution required to produce the football that CP aspires to.

We can’t get rid of a lot of the deadwood on inflated contracts so our hands are tied.

Defensively we are ok. Up front is a real problem with nothing to offer if Vardy isn’t firing.

No one foresaw how poor Iheanacho would be, Shinji is hardly a goal threat and with Slimani still on the books it is difficult to get a proven striker in.

Most clubs want another 10-15 goals a season player. Not just us.

And three of them have totally under performed and Silva just hasn’t been given a chance under CP, Slimani seems to be failing wherever he goes at the minute Musa and Nacho looked really promising on paper but have turned out to be an expensive failure Nacho is just so frustrating at times you see some flair and quality but mostly forgettable perfomances albeit a bit like Musa !!

Really think that a proven striker is our main priority in January vardyesque someone who knows how to score goals, but in some reports doing the round CP says they’ll be no one coming in but there will be outgoings and I really hope to god it’s not Chilwell and Maguire.

But the next few games going into January will be pivotable for him if we can turn things around great if not will the club say enough is enough have they got a replacement in the wings if some articles are to be believed ?

we’ll just have to wait and see !!

It does when the manager keeps picking them.

Ok, so the other options might not be perfect, but they should be more than good enough to get you through until the progression of getting the bad apples, snakes, player power club - whatever you want to call it are shipped out and replaced.

It's all easier said than done and I can sympathise with that, but last season there were calls of bad apples, snakes, player power creeping in, yada, yada, yada...well i'm sorry, grow some bollocks, put your foot down, hang them out to dry, show them who's boss, don't keep picking them, not when there are other options, there is simply no excuse, i'm sure more people would give him a slight bit more respect if the accusations or opinions of the players some people have are even true.

For the record, I don't blame Puel for everything I have stuck up for him in certain respects, it's not exclusively Puel's fault, I said yesterday there are many members of staff that I feel are culpable, ever since we chucked away opportunities and platforms to build upon since the summer of our title win, does Puel help himself? Become excused? Not at all.

Lose to Cardiff and Southampton and we are right in a relegation fight. Does Puel have the personal qualitees to motivate the team? No evidence that he does.

If its when, not if, he goes, then what is to be gained by the business in waiting?

Sacked 1st January after losing to Everton.

Shame that we didnt pick up more points against Palace and Fulham as we could lose a few games coming up and fans are already vocally on the team's back. Hope for Puel's sake he pulls something out of the bag against Man City or Chelsea

And we absolutely need to smash Cardiff

I dont even want to think about the Everton game...

When have we picked up a particularly good result this season?

Watford?

Watford shouldn’t be our prized scalp. We can do better (and we were pretty damn lucky they had strikers who couldn’t even walk the ball in the goal that day).

Maybe so, but i thought we had a good game meself, pretty comfortable.

We havent taken a scalp since Spurs last season I think, but its got to be considered a bonus when we do

W6 D4 L7

I think any win in the PL is a good result as I don’t expect us to win every game.

I also think the draw at Brighton was a good result as their home form was good.

And I suppose we’ve never been unlucky such as in the Burnley game ?

Or Vardy hitting the inside of the post and it ending up in the goalkeeper’s hands yesterday.

If your your glass is half empty everything looks shit.

A fair few games you could say we've been unlucky in, Burnley, Palace, United to name 3. As you said, to be half full us shite in these cases.

I agree with pretty much all of what you're saying but I don't feel we're seeing enough progress on the pitch unfortunately. Surely you can see why some fans have had enough?

We were implementing Puel's 'evolution' much better during the first 3 months of his time here. Yet it seems the longer he's here, the more we regress as an attacking force.
