Another ridiculous signing, couldn't even dislodge Hamer from the bench.

What was he, a million? Hardly "ridiculous" considering we needed a 3rd choice keeper.

True but I doubt that's how we sold the club to him. He was Hull's first choice keeper.

Sometimes forget he is even here still.

Didn't he have a bust up with Shakespeare in pre season?

Was one of Hull's better players the season before we signed him, Hamer was looking for more first-team football and a way out, and Jakupovic was reasonably priced.

It didn't work out (Hamer stayed longer than we thought, Jakupovic never found form here, and we bought in a younger, better keeper (Ward) with an eye on the future), but for a short-term (2-3yr) solution he was a reasonable pick.

It's an understandable move. He is better as number 2 there than number 3 or 4 here. He'll realise that Ward is now nailed on as number 2. Good luck to him.

He has turned down loans so I assume the permanent deal after the loan is likely.

Bought as a sound 2nd choice and done nothing to suggest he couldn't fill that role.

Decent in training by all accounts. No idea why Hamer overtook him, that's a kick in the nuts and by all accounts is not happy

As with other players he won't accept a pay cut during the loan or beyond.

Hamer, like other unused players were/are on daft money and happy to sit out their contract and take the wonga, not great, but we'd/I'd do the same.

Ironically offered a new contract that he turned down

Good !  As well as Ward as the Number 2, we've got a really good Under 23 Keeper, in Viktor Johansson, who will more than suffice as a Number 3.  He's looked really impressive for the U23's this season.

I agree, he has looked decent, I think it will be better to have a U23 goalkeeper as 3rd choice, get them in a match day environment home and away, and have whoever it is on the bench for a cup game

I get the feeling it was an attitude issue rather than ability.

Does this mean Stowell will take a pay cut as his squad is reduced by 25%?

Frozen out of the squad

Let him go.Let him go.

Wish him well, he's got to move on.

Burnt his bridges with Puel after publicly complaining about his situation. Understandable from his point of view, but could've handled it a bit better.

Fine by me. We're clearly a little stranded with freedom to move in the market because we have too many players deemed surplus to requirements, a category which Jakupovic falls into. Having Jakupovic behind Schmeichel and Ward is a little unnecessary as we have a good crop of young keepers at the club who can act as emergency cover. A move to play-off chasing Championship side would be a good move for him.

We'll be splashing the cash as soon once, um, Mike Stowell's massive wages are reduced a tad.

proven premier league keeper.

can consider himself unfortunate to have not been offered prem football with anyone else.

poor attitude with shakespeare or shakespeare trying to show his authority and made an example of?

Wouldnt have worried if he had to cover a kasper injury for 3-4 games.
