moore_94 Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Jakupovic to Forest with option to buy in the summer
Tuna Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Another ridiculous signing, couldn't even dislodge Hamer from the bench.
AKCJ Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Seems a weird move. Not better than Pantilimon surely?
AKCJ Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Just now, Tuna said: Another ridiculous signing, couldn't even dislodge Hamer from the bench. What was he, a million? Hardly "ridiculous" considering we needed a 3rd choice keeper.

lgfualol Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Sometimes forget he is even here still. 6 minutes ago, Tuna said: Another ridiculous signing, couldn't even dislodge Hamer from the bench. Didn't he have a bust up with Shakespeare in pre season?
coolhandfox Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Good for him and the club if they are picking up a high % of his wages and a loan fee.

Was one of Hull's better players the season before we signed him, Hamer was looking for more first-team football and a way out, and Jakupovic was reasonably priced. It didn't work out (Hamer stayed longer than we thought, Jakupovic never found form here, and we bought in a younger, better keeper (Ward) with an eye on the future), but for a short-term (2-3yr) solution he was a reasonable pick.
Guest bss9401 Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 It's an understandable move. He is better as number 2 there than number 3 or 4 here. He'll realise that Ward is now nailed on as number 2. Good luck to him.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 He has turned down loans so I assume the permanent deal after the loan is likely. Bought as a sound 2nd choice and done nothing to suggest he couldn't fill that role. Decent in training by all accounts. No idea why Hamer overtook him, that's a kick in the nuts and by all accounts is not happy As with other players he won't accept a pay cut during the loan or beyond.

Hamer, like other unused players were/are on daft money and happy to sit out their contract and take the wonga, not great, but we'd/I'd do the same. Ironically offered a new contract that he turned down

As well as Ward as the Number 2, we've got a really good Under 23 Keeper, in Viktor Johansson, who will more than suffice as a Number 3. He's looked really impressive for the U23's this season.

I agree, he has looked decent, I think it will be better to have a U23 goalkeeper as 3rd choice, get them in a match day environment home and away, and have whoever it is on the bench for a cup game

moore_94 Posted 9 January 2019 Author Posted 9 January 2019 I remember he played well in the home game at the end of last season v Arsenal
mozartfox Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Does this mean Stowell will take a pay cut as his squad is reduced by 25%?
MC Prussian Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Wish him well, he's got to move on. Burnt his bridges with Puel after publicly complaining about his situation. Understandable from his point of view, but could've handled it a bit better.
sphericalfox Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 I'm sure he was playing plenty of U23 and then nothing. Probably better off elsewhere, especially where he'll get games. Writing was on the wall when we bought Ward.
LCCFox96 Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Fine by me. We're clearly a little stranded with freedom to move in the market because we have too many players deemed surplus to requirements, a category which Jakupovic falls into. Having Jakupovic behind Schmeichel and Ward is a little unnecessary as we have a good crop of young keepers at the club who can act as emergency cover. A move to play-off chasing Championship side would be a good move for him.

reynard Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Just hope they are paying a decent fee and all his wages.

MPH Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 proven premier league keeper. can consider himself unfortunate to have not been offered prem football with anyone else. poor attitude with shakespeare or shakespeare trying to show his authority and made an example of? Wouldnt have worried if he had to cover a kasper injury for 3-4 games.
