ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 19 March 2019 Posted 19 March 2019 Winning the play-offs and Charity Shield shouldn't count though!
Corky Posted 19 March 2019 Posted 19 March 2019 The play-offs is not a trophy, in effect you finish third.
davieG Posted 19 March 2019 Author Posted 19 March 2019 Well they have titled it trophy winners and you do get a trophy.

bovril Posted 19 March 2019 Posted 19 March 2019 Let's not count the 3rd division please. I loved that season but... it's the third division.

Blue ROI Posted 19 March 2019 Posted 19 March 2019 Think I lost all faith in our survival when I heard Bassett was taking over. The man always came across as being a complete chancer.
ALC Fox Posted 19 March 2019 Posted 19 March 2019 Reading about the huge clubs we rubbed shoulders with in the early days when we kept winning the second tier title, it just goes to show the number of crossroads moments we've had where we could've established ourselves as a top tier side at the expense of other clubs but didn't...and now we think of Man Utd, Chelsea and Everton being massive clubs with reputation and history and teams like Blackpool and Bury as early achievers but are now, in reality, tiny compared to the clubs that were once their equals. In the grand scheme of things, our sport has been around for a blink of an eye. Eras come and go. But it makes me think, with everything our club has been through and what we've achieved, we're a club with a generally upward trajectory over the course of its history. Why can't we establish ourselves as a real top-flight force? The Chris Suttons of this world will invite us to know our place, but why can't we be ambitious? Is it beyond the realm of possibility that Leicester City, with good ownership, a strong identity and big ambitions, could upset the status quo and regularly challenge for European football and honours at the highest level, maybe at the expense of those 'traditional' giants like Chelsea or Arsenal? How else does a club acquire history other than to make it themselves? These are the best years of our lives as Leicester fans, and there is room to improve yet. F*** the haters and let's see more names added to that list of trophy-winning captains.
Stadt Posted 20 March 2019 Posted 20 March 2019 Matt Gillies probably should be regarded as our biggest legend
coolhandfox Posted 20 March 2019 Posted 20 March 2019 So many negative Nancy's on this thread. Some people can't help turning a positive into a negative

Hard to believe we were so close to a League/FA Cup double. That's in addition to the mentioned title-winning captain season.
Aus Fox Posted 20 March 2019 Posted 20 March 2019 Fook me bet some of you lot are a right laugh on a night out. Things that don’t count on FoxesTalk A league win if we were relegated the year before. Playoff winning trophies Charity Shield Trophy and goals penalty saves if they score the rebound penalty goals in a season tally... anything else that that doesn’t count?

red5 Posted 20 March 2019 Posted 20 March 2019 The premier league trophy shouldn't count because it was a fluke and the players were on drugs, and...and spurs were unlucky.

Plus no other club wanted to win the PL that season and we didn't win the league, Hazard won it for us.

Well it is though isn't it, you win trophy and you're put into a mini tournament which has pretty much the same rules as any cup competition bar no away goals
