Love this

He's always struck me as a seriously nice bloke that loves cricket.

I've never considered the salute to be a send off and it's sad that some players are offended by it.

I didn't even know some players were offended by it lol

I've always just thought it was a celebration based on some military background he or his family may have had.

Love his celebration and unique to him, had to laugh when England toured the Windies, Buttler hit him for 6 and has he turned to him Buttler just saluted back, lolbrilliant and he took it as good banter seems a top bloke. Some body with more expertise might be able to find it and put a link up.

Brilliant partnership this between Allen and Pooran.

C'mon Windies!

And just as I say that...

Fair play to Rihanna by the way. Out of all the Windies games, travelling to the North East picking the biggest dead rubber to watch and staying for the whole day!

Anyone up for a bit of World Cup fun? Pick a workable ODI XI (i.e. minimum five bowlers and a keeper) based on recent form, with one player taken from each of the current World Cup squads. As a bonus, your 11th player can be taken from any World Cup-winning side in history.

I went with...

Hashim Amla

Kusal Perera (wk)

Babar Azam

Kane Williamson (c)

Shakib Al-Hasan

Nicholas Pooran

Ben Stokes

Mohammad Nabi

Michael Holding

Mitchell Starc

Jasprit Bumrah

I was getting a bit worried when Shakib and Shaifuddin were staying in. Bumrah did well in death overs though as fully expected.

Shakib really is a class player.

I’ll be at the match tomorrow in Durham.  Seats right near the front and it is, for a change when I go, not set to chuck it down.

The Aus/ Windies game at Trent Bridge was a lot of fun, and Mr Cotterell’s catch, right in front of us, was a brilliant highlight, but this is England and there’s quite a bit riding on it.

I’m very excited.

Then off to the Aus/ Saffers dead rubber in Manchester on Saturday,
