The People's Hero Posted 3 July 2019 Posted 3 July 2019 I know I'm jinxing him here, but Bairstow is so lovely to watch when he's timing the ball and keeping that front elbow in check.
StanSP Posted 3 July 2019 Author Posted 3 July 2019 Neither have slowed down at all even though it's PP2. Roy out as I type that.
David Guiza Posted 3 July 2019 Posted 3 July 2019 Is there any specifc reason as to why you can't have a runner in World Cup Cricket? I thought about it the other day when Stokes was visibly struggling and the commentators mentioned it wasn't allowed. It's allowed in most/all other forms, right?

Don't think you're allowed them in any form any more.

Good question and I wondered this recently - and found this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/15135524 Assumed I'd just missed it 8 years ago.

RowlattsFox Posted 3 July 2019 Posted 3 July 2019 Root is interesting in these situations, he scores at a reasonable speed without the big hitting but did probably go to deep into the overs against India.
Super_horns Posted 3 July 2019 Posted 3 July 2019 New Zealand can still go through even with defeat today and a Pakistan win tomorrow so how motivated will be they to chase a big score? So long as they don't lose really heavily.

EastAnglianFox Posted 3 July 2019 Posted 3 July 2019 I like Root still coming in at 3 and playing at around a run a ball for these middle overs. All well and good saying get Buttler or Stokes in but if they were to go cheaply then its not looking such a great decision. Let the big hitters have the last 10-15 overs to spank it around
Voll Blau Posted 3 July 2019 Posted 3 July 2019 Come on everyone, keep winding Bairstow up! It's clearly worked...
StanSP Posted 3 July 2019 Author Posted 3 July 2019 Root out for 24. Wasted review? Heard the nick as it went through as well.
