I always laugh when posters seriously put us as cup winners but to finish outside the top 6 in the league. It's as though they think it's easier to win the cup than finish top 6.

To win the cup you're going to have to beat at least 2 of the top 6 in a one off game as well as beat all the other teams you meet.

Where we will finish? 7th

Top goalscorer?  Vardy (25)

Player of the season? Hamza if he replaces Ndidi, if not Maddison

Young player of the season? Hamza

How well will we do in the Cups? quarter finals in both

Surprise of the season?  7 - 6 victory of Arse, Iheanacho to break out.

Game you are most looking forward to? the next one.

Premier League Top 7 ManC, Spuds, Pool, Chelsea, Arse, Everton, Leicester

Cup Winners Manc Wolves

Relegation from PL Villa, Sheff U, Newc

Promotion from Championship ...

We did that three times last year (Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea). Still finished 9th because we spaffed games up the wall against the Crystal Palaces and Cardiffs of this world.

I think Wolves will win the fizzy cup because they'll be bothered about it and have a team of hardened Cup players - following their europa exploits - early in the season. I think they'll peter out in the league and finish 9th.

And really I was talking about the FA Cup as that is the only one we're really interested in as supporters isn't it?

We've won the League cup twice - it's not really a CUP anymore.

Sorry for having an opinion though and not just saying we'll win the FA Cup like some throughout the forum.

Haha I was joking mate, it just amused me and what you said is quite true, fans do seem to underestimate the difficulty of winning a cup.

Meh, speak for yourself. The FA Cup lost a good deal of its magic for me the day they decided to start playing the semis at Wembley. With the exception of the Non-League runs, the League Cup is objectively more enjoyable to me nowadays, even if historically it carries less prestige.

I think the retention of replays is about the only thing the FA Cup has going for it over the League Cup nowadays, and even then that's only good where a minnow plays a bigger team and gets a chance for an extra payday. Dead rubbers between, say, two Championship clubs are a waste of time.

Man City won both cups last year without beating a team in the top six.

Chelsea the year before had to beat one team in the top six (the final) to win the FA Cup

And a top 6 side played in EVERY game that you mention there, winning every one. I think you've made my point well.

Love this answer and was tempted to say Perez as I think he will be our scoring sensation - possibly 20 (+) but I chose Vardy because I expect a lot more penalties this season and think he'll score double figure penos alone.

You really haven’t. The point I was making was that with an open draw you can get fortunate and land a non top six opponent throughout the cup rounds.

I could do the maths but I suspect you’ll have to beat top six teams on more occasions to get into the top six than winning a cup.

A bit like how we missed Real, Barca, PSG, Bayern in the CL
