Apparently 41 out of 42 clubs voted yes, strange that they want to introduce it half way through the season

It won’t be brought in until the beginning of a season. Was just the vote today

I found this fascinating and genuinely didn't know it. How VAR will be paid for in scotland, which is based on League position. Surely has nothing to do with how outcomes are interpreted

Im fine with the idea of VAR but when Mike Riley is occasionally having to come out and apologise because they got something wrong.. twice.. how can you screw something like that up?

It needs to be the same team of people doing every single match across the season (might be awkward if they have to develop some sort of queuing system when multiple games are being played at the same time) and also it needs to scrap this clear and obvious thing. If it's a foul it's a foul.. why let a goal stand because it was only 40% of a foul? Makes no sense

VAR to be introduced in Scottish Premiership from December after SPFL clubs vote in favour

the system is set to be launched mid-campaign when the league resumes in December after the World Cup.

"Ideally, you'd want it at the start of the season, but it simply wouldn't have been ready," said Doncaster.

"You could have taken the view that you could wait until season '23-24, but there was a desire to bring VAR in as soon as it could reasonably [happen].

That’s strange- I suppose they will say that it will be brought in after a complete round of fixtures so no side will play anyone without/with var in more games than anyone else,  but I think it will make comparison with/without v easy. They will find a way to argue it makes sense ….

After yesterday, how many var goals/ overturns  have we conceded this season !  ie - how negative is our return this season?  I think we were positive last campaign.

Another one today that won’t go down on the stats list, but not sure how both ref and VAR have missed Son move his hand towards the ball and play it with his arm in the penalty area.

We are getting nothing this season

Don't see how it didn't even get checked with Moss going to the monitor.

Apparently it’s down to luck of the draw now

Pathetic.

Should never boil down to 'luck of the referee'.

These inconsistencies are appalling. The authorities seem to be making it up as they go along. Seems other sports run a tighter ship

It's at the point where i don't understand when / why things get checked at all. Apparently this was quickly checked in the game yet not classed as an error? Yet against Arsenal, Söyüncü has his handball checked from every single angle imaginable. Neither were given by the ref. Both should have been penalties imho. Then you have the West Ham one at the King Power.

However, Dale Johnsons' point above shows we have a problem here.If VAR isn't coming up with the right decision, then it should just be scrapped. Seems like its only good for spotting off-sides.

There’s surely some agenda against us coming from somewhere? I knew we’d been done badly by VAR this season- but gosh those stats really put it into perspective. Especially like others have said with things that haven’t been checked at all for us

Officials suck. It’s simply not fair to put this power in the hands of these biased pricks.

Other way around and it’s a peno, I can say that because Soyuncus, bare fingertips incident was given and this wasn’t.

VAR has fvcked is over all season and needs serious change to make it a level playing field. We best not get this bullshit next season and I hope someone from out club kick off if this unfair treatment continues.

well there is good news

“Martin Atkinson and Jonathan Moss will retire from refereeing duty at the end of the season”

But then there is also bad news

“Moss' next role with see him as the new manager of the "select group one" referees who take charge of Premier League matches. Atkinson meanwhile will be the group's coach”

And further below in that twitter thread is the plus/minus:

Plenty of comments in the 8th place thread about what ifs from the Brighton and Man Utd away games & this does give some weight to those comments - but it shows us as the most hard done to team this year...
