Manned by idiots and big club fanboys

Be prepared to be even more annoyed if you watch MOTD.

I'm expecting them to show the incident for our disallowed goal once and simply say correct decision.

For the potential red card  they'll be divided. One saying yellow correct, the other red.

Has VAR improved the game?

No.

So get rid.

Shambles.

I think honestly what winds people up is they know exactly what would've happened if those two fouls had been committed by the opposite team today.

Yep is a 50/50 but you know which way it’s going to go

Just bin var off the refs are worse now then before if you get a dodgy decision without it play goes on have to get on with it no point having a shit ref make a decision on the pitch to then go to a shit ref making decisions in a room

You may well be right, but unfortunately we don't know it, we can only assume so and thus we become victims - something I really don't support.

They had an interview on the BBC with Mike Dean and he even admitted he wasn’t keen on VAR and also said he wouldn’t feel comfortable going against his mates .

And he is the most experienced ref out there so do the others feel the same ?

Var is not the problem, the way the fa has set it up and continues to allow referees to do what they want is the problem.

I thought we were getting there, but they shit the bed in the man city Vs Everton game, fat Frank kicked off, and it's gone to shit again ever since

We wouldn’t have won the FA cup without that same VAR.

No chance we’d have won on penos.

We've won the FA Cup now - that can't be changed.

Now get rid of VAR.

I'm not sure getting rid of var is the answer. The FA/premier league just need to grow some balls and actually ensure the technology is used correctly, and take action against refs/var officials that continually get stuff wrong. When the ref goes to the pitchside monitor, they need to see an actual real time replay and stop with the still images and massively slowed down replays that doesn't show the full context of an incident. Also either bin off the clear and obvious rule or actually use it correctly.

That tackle today watching it back how var didnt get involved in that is actually shocking. How can that not be a clear and obvious error but then see a clear and obvious error in that nothing tackle by nacho. The game would 1 million percent i believe be better without var

There cannot be a single person out there who can say the introduction of VAR has improved the game. Yea there have been individual moments where a howler has been overturned, but far too many goals getting ruled out and far too many decisions going the way of the big clubs.
For the good of the game it needs to go.

Becoming more and more obvious as the weeks go on that every goal against a 'big 6' club has every phase of play leading up to it frantically looked through with a fine tooth comb making a mockery of the 'clear and obvious Error' remit it was brought in with.

Starting to believe it's been coopted as a backdoor way to placate the big 6 and stop the European break away.

Particularly embarrassing for England when you consider how perfectly it was implemented in the Euros and on the continent in general.

I might be wrong in my recollection but were we not through on goal when they pulled it back for the mctiminay foul?

I thought the ref must be giving a red if they are stopping it while we’ve put a player through??? Or am I wrong on that?

Can't remember anymore because I didn't record the game and none of the highlights packages deemed fit to show us anything about it. 😏

Unfortunately the DAZN app blocks you from screen shotting. It’s actually really good play. If there hadnt been the tackle before we would be loving the build up. It doesn’t show the full field so I’m not sure if there is someone off screen deeper in their half but it looks like Barnes was away

I just don't get why they go to the screen. Have we had a single instance in the PL whereby the ref is advised to go to the screen and he stands by his original decision?

Feels like they do it as a tick box exercise to say they're looking at the footage, following the pressure from pundits to go to the screen.

If they're going to go with the VAR call anyway then just give it and save us all the time and theatre of going over to the screen.

The grey area of clear and obvious needs removing as well. It's too open to bias and inconsistencies.

Give teams a number of appeals per game (not many, 2 maybe) and leave it up to the captain to raise the claim with the ref.

Have the ref view the footage and make an impartial call.
