davieG Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 Leicester City Football Club is celebrating a birthday. · Garry Parker turns 5️⃣4️⃣ today! What a moment this was from Garry 2️⃣3️⃣ years ago... I make no excuses for this thread, he's one of my all time favourite players
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 Pure class in the middle of the park.
NewquayFox Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 Great player, very underrated but loved by City fans...
foxile5 Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 Give it to Parker and he'll provide. Great passer of the ball, we were fortunate to have him.
boots60 Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 Gary Parker was a class act. Sorry to say my main memory of him was the diabolical sending off by a ref on Jesus Gil's payroll for taking a free kick allegedly too early, which in effect led us to a European exit. Top player & likeable character.
Voll Blau Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 Good of the club to actually spell his name right this time.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 I don't think I've ever seen a player who could drop the ball on a sixpence quite like Parker. Absolutely crucial to the way we played under Martin O'Neill. Pity he never went into management after his retirement. Perhaps at Forest or somewhere like that.

From Wiki - On 29 August 2019, Parker joined Oxford United as a performance analyst.[12] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garry_Parker

Fox92 Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 Any reason to post this good goal and good celebrations...

FoxyJim1987 Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 What a player. Not mobile at all or a tackler, just pure class on the ball and excellent at set pieces, a leader as well, had a massive game in the final v Palace, pressure penalty, very good player.

coolhandfox Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 Often forgotten, people tended to remember Lennon and Izzet. However Parker was a class act, fantastic range of passing, and a good character!
ForeverandEver Posted 7 September 2019 Posted 7 September 2019 That Penalty against Crystal Palace which Muzzy won for us. We were celebrating before Parker even stepped up - we were so confident he was going to put it away. That passionate celebration too... what a man.

Was just about to say scoring penalties was merely a formality with the guy. Unbelievable talent and such a cool head.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 8 September 2019 Posted 8 September 2019 One of my favourite players growing up. Can not believe he is now over 50!! Makes me feel really old.
Guest WarehamFox Posted 8 September 2019 Posted 8 September 2019 He once smashed a ball at my brother during a warm-up in front of the kop, brother put his hands up to save himself and burst his packet of crisp, Parker turns to him and points his finger at Scott Taylor to blame him. Good memories. There is a story on the Mercury on line about his daughter's appeal for help to raise funds for life changing surgery.
