SemperEadem Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 Sorry if already posted and I have missed it but having a betting firm sponsor us seems disappointing.
jonthefox Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 Another one to add to w88 , 19.com ,Betway and bet365.
st albans fox Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 Not sure where Yabo have come from but they have taken on quite a few clubs across Europe (inc uk) last few months seem to be launching a uk gambling website aswell. as said above, another betting partner ......
KingsX Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 ManU are getting £3m a year from this same outfit. So you'd guess we'll only get about enough to pay Harvey Barnes. Whiffy cash to be sure. If you have interest in clubs' rosters of sponsors, this was posted a month ago: http://www.sportspromedia.com/analysis/premier-league-2019-20-guide-club-sponsor-tv-rights-deals Ours: Kit supplier: Adidas, UK£3 million (US$3.7 million) per season, signed 2018, length unreported Main sponsor: King Power, UK£4 million (US$5.1 million) per season, length unreported Sleeve sponsor: ThaiBev, UK£600,000 (US$730,500) per season, signed 2019, length unreported Major deals since start of 2018/19: Etoro, Bakers Waste, Sandicliffe Ford, Xpress Money
UniFox21 Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 Not a fan of this, dont like the grip and influence betting companies have in football. Sadly its becoming more common.
Suzie the Fox Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 I'm sure (at least i hope) betting company advertising will become like the adverts for ciggies and be non-extistant in the not too distant future. It needs to stop.
coolhandfox Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 Should go the same way as cigarette and alcohol advertising in football.
UniFox21 Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 Hoping the FA see's how Bet32 and Derby sorted the Rooney transfer out and begin sanctioning or regulating these sponsorships.

Was mentioned at the 1st FCC just before last seasons kit release.
boots60 Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 I would imagine a fair percentage of Foxestalkers like to have a bash at beating the bookies. I regularly donate a fiver of my hard earned to Mark Jarvis on a Saturday. Is this a matter for outrage & disapproval?

People with gambling addiction can get extremely similar issues to those with alcohol or nicotine addiction. Yes, you don't get the cancers related from over usage of both, but the mental health risks are just as severe, maybe worse. Just as we can't see the problem, doesn't mean it's not there.

I know mate, I probably wrote that a little wrong. Gambling addiction is a very serious thing that usually results in people losing their livelihoods, homes .etc. But because theirs no sustainable physical risks associated with gambling, it's very hard for society to just turn on the gambling industry unlike what happened with the tobacco industry.

Given how much mental health is being focused upon and spoken about; now is almost a perfect time to turn on the industry. Highlighting the mental health issues gambling addictions cause and why we need to begin regulating the companies and stopping these behaviours or issues from developing and becoming an issue for people. If you cut down their promotions and advertisements, you'll massively reduce those that get drawn into trying it

UniFox21 Posted 16 September 2019 Posted 16 September 2019 Just now, The Horse's Mouth said: It won't happen, too much money involved That's a different issue mate, you were looking at it originally from there being no health risks to impose regulations on. But I agree, they have their hands helping so many people lining their pockets that it'll be a tough ask to bring regulations in

I can't see it advancing beyond that, because it's very easy to shy away gambling addiction because they've got the money and they can always make the case that, well for every gambling addict, there's hundreds of people who bet responsibly .etc. Like, society as a whole is making progress when dealing with mental health but I think we're a long way away from tackling something like this.

woddyuk Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 A few years back there was a big song and dance about Ladbrokes as a partner and someone else shortly after that I can't even remember. Whilst not belittling the effects of gambling this is nothing compared to other adverts on TV and radio that we are being subjected to. Talk Sport, Sky etc all have associations with various betting companies promoting odds for results, next scorer etc and now even laying bets. Take their money. It will pay for the clappers or end up being donated to the community This time next year they'll be replaced by the next in line.
Guest Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 A basketball website that I frequent has now got a board sponsored by a betting company. Maybe Mark will be tempted to the dark side - just after he lifts my Gen Chat ban and posting limit.
ThurmastonFox Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 Oh the irony. Thread about betting sponsored by Skybet....
