This is a big problem, teams will either press him and know he will give the ball away or they  will just mark the other players and know that he will only play 10 yard passes that won’t hurt them.

You cant blame system, manager, "bad form" or enlgand's crap weather for being bellow average footballer for 2+ years.

I really was expecting from club to offload him and get Sangare or someone who is physical and good on ball

now we are stuck with deadwood

He’s missing something!

Generally our players when he try’s to pass the ball.

Passing completion of 85.5%, for reference Dewsbury hall had 68.9% and Tielemans had 73.3%. I dont know why Ndidi is getting the flak today, thought he was one of our better players.

I meant in general in fairness. Although, they do operate differently. Easier to pass backwards and let’s be realistic, he’s a beast when employed to do what he’s good at.

It would help him if some of our players moved to offer more than one option for a pass at times.

My point was proven again today....Far better without Tielemans. The second Youri came on, we collapsed. Although the football was turgid, and I'd have made the point had we won 1-0, with Ndidi and no Youri we looked far better.

He was shit. Constantly beaten and can’t progress the ball forward. His stock probably isn’t very high or I would look to offload before it drops even more. Maybe he’ll improve under a new manager…

His game is winning the ball, and thats it. You need ball winners who don't need to play off the simple pass for the more talented players to progress up the pitch now as everything slows down. Sangare has already had a mention.  3 box to boxers in the middle rather than specialists for me. Makes injuries and recruitment far more straight forward.

Mate... come on...

Because Tielemans came on, that is what caused Ndidi himself to make an absolute cock up and lose his man to make a pathetic attempt at a header on a set-piece? How does that even make sense? Ndidi would've been marking the same man regardless of whether Tielemans was on or not.

We would've conceded that first goal at least regardless and it was Ndidi at fault for it himself.

Of all the assets we should be selling it’s Ndidi.

has been regressing for 2 years now. Doesn’t deserve his place in the team. Should’ve sold him at his peak value and reinvested with someone like sangare.

He gets his game as an anchorman in front of a back 4 and is still no better.

I just don’t see it. He was brilliant for us for his first 3 seasons or so, and I’ll always love him as a player for what he’s done for us, but it just feels like because of that will people keep blaming the system and making excuses for him and never just admit he’s been poor for us for a long, long time now, regardless of the system.

Very concerning how easily Adams accellerated away from him at one point. I can't remember if it was in the lead up to one of the goals, but he looked like he was running through treacle.

It wasn't Ndidi's fault that the defence played deep as soon as Southampton woke up and started attacking..  Rodgers made bad substitutions again by taking Vardy and Perez off and we stopped the high press.

It was his fault he couldn’t defend a simple corner, which teams get regardless og if they’re dominating or not though.

I remember him misjudging a header vs Liverpool in the league cup that cost us their equaliser.

Lots of hindsight bias about Ndidi and Tielemans, and how we should have sold them.

Most of us said at the time we need them to stay.

There's an art in knowing when to sell. Ferguson rarely got it wrong with when to sell. Except for Stam and Ronaldo (who went for a record fee), I can't think of many other players who went onto do better after leaving Man U when he was in charge.

3 year cycles make sense, we've just got too many players who have it too easy and lost their edge at the club.

He used to be a beast absolutely brilliant but not anymore it seems. Not sure what happened but him at 100% makes us so much better.

If Soyuncu isn't going to play and Ndidi's passing is still off, then I don't see any harm in putting Wilf at centre-half instead of Amartey and playing Tielemans, KDH and Maddison as the 3 in the middle (Or Mendy, KDH and Youri with Maddison on the right).

Probably not a good idea. In Rodgers' system the centrebacks have way more of the ball and make more passes than any of the other players. Amartey attempted 100 passes against Southampton, most in the team, with Evans having second most pass attempts. Just shows how broken BR's tactics are when the centrebacks have to be your primary playmakers.

It's not a great idea, I'll admit, but I'd rather see it than Amartey continue to struggle every week.

Soyuncu really needs to play, or Fofana needs to be sold and we get a decent centre-half and winger in.

I'd rather Vestergaard starts the next game away at Chelsea than Amartey. He's had his chance and he's failed.

Ideally, Soyuncu starts with Evans. I'm not expecting 19/20 levels of performance, but I'm sure he'd be better than what we've had defensively in the last few games.

Soyuncu should have been starting all along. Now we are in a position where BR has got to swallow his pride and basically admit he's got it massively wrong. I'll be impressed if his ego allows him to do this.

Has the whole Soyuncu thing come about because of the Spurs game? It was poor, absolutely, but Christ alive, Amartey is shocking. I’m sure there must be more to this than that one tackle. His form has dropped, yeah absolutely, but is he really that ‘bad’?

Unless he knows Cags isn’t going to give 100% to avoid a potential injury, in which case I would side with Brendan.

Probably of no relevance but Ndidi and Tielemans have not been the same since KDH came into the team

Obviously I'm not blaming KDH for this, and there other reasons why the form Ndidi and Tielemans has dropped (injuries, not wanting to be here etc) We were at our best with them 2 and Maddison in front. We have played more of a midfield 3 since KDH came in to the side and not sure it suits either of them.

Jesus what tosh, i`m a pensioner and i could stand around doing sod all for 90 minutes other than occasionally, round of applause from idiots, passing the ball 3 foot backwards

3 foot backwards, very good at that, otherwise totally useless
