I think/hope he missed Saturday due to the personal reasons he remained in Belgium.for.

It is (surely)  inconceivable that he was dropped to accommodate the mediocre and persistently ineffectual Perez.

People get annoyed when Maddison is played on the wing and they also get annoyed when Praet is on the bench, they also don't like it when we've played a diamond.

It's a good problem for the manager to have but something has got to give personally I'd have maddison on a wing and Praet and Youri in the middle in front of wilf.

...Maddison really does not work on the wing!!!!

Rodgers has the same blindspot.....the sooner he accepts, that it is detrimental to the team, the better!!!!

Before Burnley, Perez had 3 assists in 3 appearances. He also adds a lot defensively to the team, and everybody seems to perform better in the framework of the 4-3-3. Praet will have to bide his time, we're still at a formative point of the season and can't continue tinkering around and gambling on individual form to pull us through. When everyone is drilled properly, maybe we can see as to 4-3-1-2 as an option.

We’re at the stage where Praet simply has to play, period - accommodate him however you have to.  Praet on the right wing and Barnes on the left is a perfectly reasonable option. So is a diamond with Maddison and Ndidi on the points.

They don't even play in the same position.

So you want Praet on the bench? Criminal having a midfielder that good not playing?

Theres no other solution I'm afraid. It's either Praet on the bench or push Maddison out wide so Praet can start. And nobody wants to see Maddison on the left wing again.

Tielemans & Maddison are our first choice and rightfully so.

Those aren’t the only options by a long shot.

So what other options are there? Diamond midfield? Our best formation is 4141 and sadly Praet doesn't get ahead of Tielemans and Maddison atm.

He's not Messi, we can afford to bench him, and we must until the rest of the team figures out how to play 4-3-1-2. He really isn't a must play guy. He is great and probably in our Top 10 best players but that doesn't mean that we will fail if we don't play him.

Agree with all points - however....

..on the flip side, no player has the right to play, and as Dennis has played right wing before, coupled with our lack of product from the existing dedicated  right sided wide men, might be time to push him wide right midfield?

Its hardly like anyone has claimed the right wide position, whereas you could argue that Barnes has made some, albeit inconsistent, in roads on the left side.

Right, except he played there years ago and I'm sure the manager has already thought of that. If he doesn't play him there it means that he doesn't believe that Praet has the abilities to play there at a good level, probably worried about his very poor shooting record.

We're coming in to a time of the season that will hopefully see us continue to have cup games midweek and the busy Christmas schedule.. he's going to rotate in and out and it's just a benefit that we have the midfield quality to do that

I’ve listed two of them more than once, and recently too. Play Praet on the right with Barnes on the left, or play a midfield diamond with Ndidi and Maddison sandwiching Tielemans and Praet.

”Our best formation is a 4-1-4-1” has become like a mantra at this point.  Out best formation is the one that utilities our best players most effectively. Not every option has been tried, for starters, and you can certainly use Praet on the right in a 4-1-4-1 anyway.

What a boy, he's quietly so effective. Every decision he makes is the right one, always in the right place and always makes the right pass, unerringly.

£18m is gonna seem a right bargain this time next season.
